Re: Is MSTS 1 dead ?

Once again this topic rises back to the surface, and once again MSTS users scratch their heads and post that it's still being actively used on their computers. One point that was mentioned to me recently is that the forums and upload volumes don't reflect the actual number of MSTS users; in other w...

Re: Is MSTS 1 dead ?

Only in the minds of people who think so? 8) In Twelve years there's been more content produced internationally than even a totally obsessed player could take on and run. Most folk have a life as well?! If you think there's nothing new you obviously have very narrow interests as far as rail is conce...

Re: Goodbye from me.

Lol! well good luck with not offending anyone Geoffrey  It seems nowadays that taking offense is the norm rather than growing a backbone or learning to take it on the chin? Frankly anyone offended by posts on a train Sim forum needs some REAL problems in their life? Whatever happened to ...

Re: Goodbye from me.

I can't emphasise enough the huge amount of tutorials available. That's quite apart from the helpful folk on the MSTS sections of the forums. Start here: http://msts.steam4me.net/tutorials/index.html ......for the biggest selection of practically idiot proof tutorials ....in the opinion of this idio...

Re: Goodbye from me.

MSTS is twelve. It came out before any serious games consoles, it was flawed BUT it was a piece of software that like Flight Sim before it was able to be modified and added to by individuals and 3rd party companies. Unlike most other "games" it comes with the huge backup of an international communit...

Re: Windows 8.1

....whatever happened to keyboard shortcuts?

WAY faster than any mouse or touch screen ...but you do have to learn them of course 8)

Interface aside the general scuttlebutt seems to be that it's a pretty stable OS?

Re: Sardinia 2013

Nice shots, thanks for posting. I love these small lines that have survived in Europe. Just goes to show what could have existed if Marples hadn't destroyed the UK's Branch Lines. Also goes to show what keeps running when there are no resource hog High Speed Routes to drain an areas Rail Budget! Wen...

Re: Windows 8.1

Just watched the first look at Windows 8.1 on Youtube and even though i am part of the younger generation i'm gonna stick with Windows 7 cause the desktop is so much better for PC users. .....err you did look at the new desktop in Windows 8.1? THAT's what impressed me. Much more like Windows 7 and ...

As much as I love 'gadgets', apart from an e-reader, I have no need or desire to purchase a tablet of any prescription. Cheers Bazza And Me. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer desktops and laptops :P MARTIN 8) :drinking: With respect that's a bit like comparing a hammer with a saw! They're b...

As much as I love 'gadgets', apart from an e-reader, I have no need or desire to purchase a tablet of any prescription. Cheers Bazza It's a good compromise between a "SMART  phone" and a laptop for me Bazza. Re: Windows 8.1

You wonder how a company as big and international as M$ could get folks requirements that wrong to start with? Practice, practice, practice! Cheer Bazza  ....you got that right Bazza! There's also been a pattern in their OS's of Excellent, Awful, Excellent, Awful etc. or as we realists ...

Windows 8.1

Hooray! A proper desktop and a "computing for adults front end" at last. Looks good on the You tube demos? The blatant crass marketing hype of the touch screen technology, which one suspects had more to do with promoting Windows phones than being a serious FRONT END for the computer literate, is at ...

Re: Some Thoughts on "The Latest"...

Know where you are coming from, Geoff. I spend so much time doing my route, I still have over 2GB's worth of stock and routes I'm yet to even look at, some which have been out for almost 2 years. I still haven't got round to MT's expansion for the GE route and that's been out a while!. yes it...

Some Thoughts on "The Latest"...

Everyone seems to crave "the latest"? Latest Sim, latest route, latest stock etc.etc. With MSTS we have the luxury of 12 years of development and there are literally thousands of models available. Spending a lot of my time on MEP and FSX in the past few years I realised that I'd been missing out on ...

Re: Double Madness

..hmmm this thread is starting to read like the "Daily Wail" comments column now. There are two sides (at least!) to every story and all our comments are based on supposition. Geoff Well, we don't know why but the video evidence clearly shows she went through the flashing red lights and avoided the...
