Just for fun, I doubt if I would ever be able to publish 'Night Mail', because the 'Thanks to...' file would be bigger than the program itself :-) Just look at the readme file of any BVE route and you'll see long list of "thanks tos" for everything from objects to information to testing. About 2/3 ...

Good luck, I'm sure you'll find BVE isn't as hard as it seems when you get used to it.

The last bit really makes me laugh "more training for staff, cleaning of trains and improved security" due to the fact that unlike the other two improvements "cleaning of trains" is not accompanied by something like "more" or "improved", suggesting that is something that isn't done at all at the mom...

I was at the thing going to the boat show too. I really wantewd to go on the 306. It annoyed me too. Were you the person who on the way back was at the front taping the route for a drivers eye view? Why would the steam special have affected the 306? There is a fast and a slow line there. I was at t...

I expect another issue is the variety that train sims offer in comparision to what is probably a pretty repatative job. If you spend your time at work trundling along branch lines in your Sprinter or Pacer or driving an EMU on inner suburban services it would be very nice to have the opertunity to d...

If I had the money I'd buy smoe track and 3rd rail Electrify it and then run old SR Slammers on it. By the time I've got enough money though the Slammers will be well gone and I'll problably end up picking up a Desiro and/or Electrostar from a scrapyard, maybe a Juniper aswell if they havn't all bee...

Isn't this just a game... sorry "sim". I felt forced to have derailments turned off because on some routes, regardless of how fast/slow I went trains would just fall off the track. One particular place was on the default NEC route, at somewhere than can only be described as the railway equivilent o...

Oh forget it. I was just trying to make a point that MSTS was not "as real as it gets" in another area and that it could give a bad impression to those people who might believe it is. Not all MSTS users are knowlegable about railways, and by the way, overspeeding does occur on mainline and preserved...

I was starting to think it would be easier to buy the actual SVR than get hold of the MSTS addon. Luckely I managed to find a copy, along with the cambrian coast, in game in Leicester though although when I went to Birmingham just over a week later I didn't see either of them as I was looking for a ...

It would still be worth getting a USB 2 card though as they arn't that expensive and the speed improvement over USB 1 is very good. Knowing the computer industry its probably down to the cheapness of upgrading that USB 2 devices were made compatable with USB 1 connectors anyway  .

It always amases me two how many workers on preserved railways work on the mainline railways. I know quite a few people who work driving trains or working as guards or ticket sellers or station staff etc, then during their spair time do exactly the same on preserved railways for nothing. Its not jus...

Derailments

MSTS has alot of faults but one thing really pisses me off. How many times are you driving along and in forgetfulness allow yourself to go slightly above the speed limit, perhaps just a couple of MPH and nextt thing your whole train is spread across the track? The fact that it is so easy to derail a...
