Just typed it in National Rail and thats what came up. As the sleepers get into Scotland in the early hours (around 5ish), the connection in Stirling was only 25 minutes, so i thought it was quite convenient. Do you have to book in advance on the sleepers? Or can you just walk up and buy a ticket? ...

I would recommend Euston - Aberdeen because then you get to cross the magnificent Forth Bridge. True, (and the Tay Bridge), but in the very early hours of the morning! When I went on the Caledonian, it was 90 hauled between Euston - Edinburgh. A 67 took us to Abderdeen, while the 37 went to Fort Wi...

Can I just say that it is incredibly difficult to manage a forum of this size. Most people will have no idea, how time consuming it is, honestly. People should respect this decision. And I also feel that, in time, people will realise that signatures aren't really essential and we can all live withou...

Slam Door Farewell tomorrow

A 12-car train formed of a 4VEP, 4CIG and 4CEP will operate from Ramsgate-London, London-Weymouth (via the Arun Valley & coast), Weymouth-London (via Woking & Richmond), London-Chatham, Chatham-London. There are tickets available for the full tour (well, as much of it as you can do!) or just the Lon...

Well it's not exactly difficult to look at the departure board and see what platform the train is on either. True but it's not uncommon for WAGN trains to depart from the same platform (front 4, rear 4), although that's not likely in this case. I can't speak for the Sunday timetable but on weekdays...

Either that or the Welwyn GC train just before. Where does the 1315 terminate? Cambridge? Or does it go on to Kings Lynn? Possibly, but it's difficult to confuse a 313 with a 365! Also I am surprised there wasn't an auto-announcer, there usually is in my experience (although I don't travel WA...

Yeah the light was poor. Try adjusting the aparture to let more light in, and increase the ISO setting.

What train were you supposed to get on?
I'll guess at the 1321, which calls at Finsbury Park?

Again, this was an open day for people to visit, NOT a photography preview, which was on Friday! You take pics on the Saturday and you get people in your shots unless you're lucky, pure and simple. Anyway photos with people in can be interesting. Anyone recognise themselves, or anyone else, in these...

I didn't experience the problems mentioned but I've heard about them. People have a right to go wherever they want to go (within reason). If someone is in the way you could possibly kindly ask them to move but they do not have to do so, as no-one should be allowed to boss anyone else about! Photogra...
