Re: AI train in single track! help please.
It seems that the signals simply follow the switch directions,ie the AI dispacher doesnt actually control the signals at all. This would certainly appear to be the case, although there is a bit more to it! There is no facility within the current signal scripts for the AI Signaller to have any influ...

Re: Automatic signals
Hi Mark, Here's an overhead shot of the route, I decided to post screens instead of a diagram as it would have taken ages to make one up clear enough. In the first shot its just the top three lines leading to the station I want to signal and in the second its only the lines on the left (marked) tha...

Re: Thanks for The IOW Route
I think graphical this is a great add-on but I do feel that the ride seems to lack a lot of atmosphere. For me anyway what I remember about going on the old underground stock on the IOW is the feeling like my fillings were going to come out at their top speed. On RS it all seems a bit calm and tame...

Re: AI train in single track! help please.
Mark, thanks again for your invaluable assistance on this one. I would, at some stage, be interested to hear your views on what is happening with the Despatcher (great faith in your ability to decipher it...) in that it needs a "Stop At" instruction at all to use the loop and the slight discrepanci...

Re: Terriers on the Isle Of Wight
They look very at home :D Great pic :) For those who may not be aware, Terrier "40 Brighton" does live at Havenstreet in real life, usually in its guise as "W11 Newport". Also "Fenchurch" has visited from the Bluebell Railway. Havenstreet also have a carriage body similar to that of the LBSCR 4W Br...

Re: AI train in single track! help please.
Nick / Ted, The picture below shows how I have set the track directions for lefthand running through the loop onto the single line. The other end of the loop is set up in a similar manner. [album 30897 Singlelineloop1.jpg] The picture below shows the Track Links set out for the signals. Again the ot...

Re: AI train in single track! help please.
When I tried to run the same test on a "live" loop on my route chaos ensued! Both trains started off simultaneously but when they reached the 2T signals at the entries to the loop they both stopped, reversed the half mile or so back to their starting positions (!!**) and then took it in turns to ru...

Re: Automatic signals
Ant, Perhaps you could post a diagram of your layout? If you could give each siding/track an identification letter and each point and signal a number, I am sure that between us we should be able to "sort you out". Which signalling system are you proposing to use for your "layout"? Regards Mark Brinton

Re: AI train in single track! help please.
Nick & Ted, Something for you to try to get your passing loop working. Change the Position A signals to 2T. Make sure that the starting signals are 1T and that the direction of travel is correctly set on both loop lines, and that the single line is set for both directions. Using the Track Linked Obj...

Re: AI train in single track! help please.
Mark, thanks for this. I'm interested in your comments about the IoW route as Adam's comment on the RS forum indicated that it would give us some clues about single track working. If they are using "non standard" scripts that makes life a little more difficult! I must admit that I am still baffled ...

Re: AI train in single track! help please.
Hi Ted Hmmmmmm... interesting :-? I've been off down a different angle following Adam's comments about the IoW route and how it handles single line traffic. I've looked at Sandown and the setup for the loop there is (excuse the drawing): [album 202170 iow.jpg] A & D appear to be 2T signals with lin...

[quote="npcleary I have to say that I can't understand how you could prioritise LSWR over GWR but that's another can of worms :) Nick[/quote] Comes from my employment heritage, at Eastleigh we were taught from an early age that all things Western/GWR/Swindon etc. were bad. Are your kits ready to download in this forum? Thanks Mark. All the kits can be found in the downloads section of UKTS, currently there are six or seven kits covering various aspects of the UK Southern Region/Railway upper quadrant signalling system. Suggest you do a files search on downloader "mbt...

Re: More signalling help required!
I think I am covered with this as the driver train, in this case, originates from Cinderford, about 5 miles back up the single line. There are sidings and markers galore at Cinderford and 2 loops along the single line at intervening stations. I am just going to rethink what traffic I want to run an...
