Re: Can't select small objects in RE
I have made some steam-era UK road signs but I'm finding that once they are placed on or near larger objects - eg a road section - it's almost impossible to select them again in the editor. This seems to be an issue with quite a few freeware signs, but some of the default signs seem less prone to i...

Re: Passing train information
hi, More out loud logic thinking here........ Is it possible to sort the received messages so that they would be actioned in a specific order? Say for example the last parameter is a number and each received message has a different number within a range of say 1 to 99. Two messages with the same nu...

Re: Passing train information
Mark beat me to it ... So I can refine his statement a bit: There are no integers per se, only real numbers in Lua, but that is not a problem. A message can only pass one number (to my knowledge), but you can have a set of messages passing a set of numbers. (Mark, have you got the String functions ...

Re: Passing train information
hi, Thanks for that info Andis. Gives me some more to think about and eliminates a couple of ideas. Heres another pondering........ would it be possible to pass a message, made up of several integers, between signals using a function call totaly unknown to the game but recognised by other signals w...

Re: Automatic signals
Hi Mark, Train priority now changed, and I'm able to setup numerous trains to run with all signals working properly! Looks like finally its sorted, now I know where to look for problems anyway, so next stage is to finish the scenery and its done. :D although it'll never be finished - I'll always wa...

Re: Automatic signals
Looks like I'm getting there - sort of - all sigs now seem to be working correctly upon initial load and I can succesfully run two AI trains in and out, but if I try three, the second train is held in the station at signal. However the third train will travel its path (even if said path is to the s...

Re: IOW Colour Light Signals. Help needed!
James, Are you referring to the "WFP" numbers? In which case these are the signal number of the individual signals. WFP is the signalbox code for Ryde St.Johns Road which now controls all the signals on Island Line. I have had a brief look at the IOW signalling scripts and they a highly individualis...

BFM,
I will try and sort something out for you over the weekend, I assume that you will be using either the original RS signalling or my currently released kits.
Regards
Mark Brinton

Re: Crawling AI Trains.
Just out of interest, how are the signals set up wrongly and how can they be fixed? Two of the most common errors appear to be: 1) Failure to put links on all routes from a signal. All potential routes from a signal should have route links applied regardless of whether the route is actually used or...

Re: Crawling AI Trains.
Incidentally, the sudden slow-to-crawl of AI trains seems to be caused by (or at least one cause of it) the twit of a despatcher trying to change a point underneath the train, this causes the AI train to run very slowly and produces a shed load of output to the logmate logger thing where you can se...

Re: Automatic signals
HI, I've tried sending single trains from siding to platform and back, then testing over each siding in turn. But I have now done it again to double check. The problem is I'm getting different signals showing clear and stop depending on how I load the route up. If I load it from the home screen I g...

Re: Isle of Wight Signalling Insight
Btw, has anyone noticed that the IOW controlled signals default to ON, and the operation of Sempahore signals has been updated and improved? This is an early indication of whats to come on the main routes, so now will be the time for feedback. :) Adam, What has happened to the semaphore signal anim...

Re: Automatic signals
Hi Mark When I load the route in free play (and creating scenarios) all the sigs are at green until I start moving trains over the route, the signals in the sidings turn red when a train passes over them and will clear again when it reaches the station but the platform signals will not clear again ...

I have another photo, from the opposite angle, showing the water works siding(s) at Bedhampton, see below. http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l99/rogertra/Great_Eastern/SBR4-CORBedhampton.jpg Bedhamton Halt was and probable still is, two wooden platforms starting just to the east of Bedhamton Gates....

Re: AI train in single track! help please.
Hi Nick, Yes, I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter how you set up the loops, it's getting the signals right that's important. I've been up several blind alleys trying to think what has or hasn't gone wrong. Reading through the description of the Isle of Wight signalling shows that the...
