Re: Who wants to signal the GCR?
Very interesting. I wonder If I can cheat and use one of the SR 3 junction signals to see if that would work! Any of the following from "SR Signal Kit 5" (UKTS File Ref. 22441) should do. SR UQ Hs-Hs-Hs 3T Junction Signal SR UQ Hs-Hm-Hs 3T Junction Signal SR UQ Hm-Hs-36Hs 3T Junction Signal SR UQ H...

Re: Who wants to signal the GCR?
Thanks for your comments Mark but i have it working at home on my trial route, but yes as i mentioned the signal will clear for straight on with the 2 crossovers set as you say, why is it that i can get it to work yet Kirk cant?, Still Learning. It could be down to your definition of working! As yo...

Re: Who wants to signal the GCR?
One of the problems that you have is that your 3 arm splitting signal should be one signal with three routes, not the individual two signals as shown. Unfortunately there are no three route semaphore signals in the RS signalling as they only have "main" and "diverging" routes. To signal this with RS...

Re: Improved distant semaphores
Whilst I agree that the current Network Rail requirement is to replace a distant immediately after a train has passed. In the BR days I don't recall the signalling regulations being so specific. Certainly on the Southern it was general practice to leave the distant off until it was necessary to retu...

Re: AWS ramp with a distant semaphore - causes spad on yellow
LUA Debug. I have enabled the logmate and lua debug options from the RW launch screen. I have also changed the scripts on the default semaphore distant sig so that "DEBUG = true" is set. However, I do not get any signal messages at all in the logmate. Any ideas? Do you get the LogMate screen up? If...

Re: AWS ramp with a distant semaphore - causes spad on yellow
Progress of sorts. The standard dumb AWS sorted the first issue and that distant signal works fine. However I still have the following issue: 3Asp 2T colour light --> Distant --> AWS Dumb Permanant Warning --> 1T Home Causes a SPAD on the Distant - The 1T Home does not show green at all. Other info...

Re: AWS ramp with a distant semaphore - causes spad on yellow
Hi Mark, I know you have said on the TPR thread you are working on a complete signal pack. For the moment I will persist with the default signals as most of the route is modern colour light. Your signals do sound good though. How close are you to making some colour light ones? Jim Jim, The semaphor...

Re: AWS ramp with a distant semaphore - causes spad on yellow
As far as I know, there is no way to get AWS to work with the default semaphore, and I dont think existing semaphore kits like the GWR one will work with it either. Ive long planned to have a bash at building atc, but Ive no idea where to start or indeed if it would work with the existing game asse...

Re: RS.com Signalling Documentation
I am aware on this forum that some people are calling for updated signalling documentation. I would like to add my voice to those requesting this. What do people think the signalling documentation needs? I think it needs to be clear what are core required functions/constants, and what are user defi...

Re: Siding and Mainline Help
Thanks MBtech. Already done some of your suggestions but will have a go today with the rest. I was using the special because it is a reversing signal. Do I not need a reversing signal to make A clear properly? Jim Jim, Providing that the train goes completely passed the signals Link1 then the answe...

Re: Split in Rails or not
James, As you correctly deduce the default RS Colour Light Junction signals require the AWS ramps. It would appear that they have all been set to operate on an approach control basis, despite comparatively not that many signals work this way on the real railway. RS may have a long term strategy to a...

Re: Siding and Mainline Help
I have had a look at your excellent diagram. There are a few adjustments you could do to make things work smoother. 1) Signal A should be a 1T signal with A1 link located where you currently have A2. I would recommend not using the "Special" signal as it was designed for a special purpose in a speci...

Re: Split in Rails or not
James,
It may be worth moving the Link0 for the two signals so that they do not overlap (i.e. the front of a train can stop at both without colliding). As this may ease the thinking for the AI signaller.
Otherwise as Andi says it should not be a problem.

Re: Siding and Mainline Help
The layout should not be too difficult to signal with the default signalling, either CLS or semaphore. The main problem is getting the links in the correct location for the "occupation database". Looking at your diagram the first obvious issue is "L1" which I assume is Link1 for Signal 1. This must ...

Re: New Info on signals - Right-Hand pop-out window
Hi, This is a nice helpful forum. I'm assuming what you have done is changed the switch/route states, which of course would break signal interoperability. I'm thinking a method of using parameters may allow for some degree of signal interoperability to be maintained. My semaphore signals (available...
