Re: Laptop Recommendations for Train Simulator
Just FYI, here is what I bought recently: Lenovo Legion 5-15ARH05 (Ryzen 7 4800H, RTX 2060, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD) and it runs TS2021 better than my current desktop (which has only Ryzen 5 2600 and GTX 1050Ti, so this is to be expected +/-). But what I like about Lenovo Legion 5 chassis in particular, i...

Re: Tile loading stutter worse in 64 bit?
Just a short notice regarding 8 GB set ups... 8 GB is simply not enough for 64bit version, as the game's memory footprint increased, slightly, but measurably (which is to be expected given the nature of 64bit architecture(s)) and as a result, on 8 GB system, there is no longer enough RAM to cache di...

Re: GTX 980/i7 & TS2015
Regarding CPU - while "Skylake" is indeed latest and greatest (also price wise), "Haswell refresh" is not far behind in terms of performance - and given its higher default turbo speed (4,4 Ghz with 4790K vs. 4,2 with 6700K) is often even slightly faster than "Skylake". The same rule applies even for...

Re: 57xx Pannier - does it not like hills?
57xx was "nerfed" with the TS2013 upgrade og the Falmouth Branch. In my experience, "new" 57xx now requires longer recovery times in stations. I am unable to tell, if the original performance or the new performance is closer to the real deal. Btw. my local branch line quite often runs steam specials...

Re: AVG has deleted TS15 executable HELP!
The problem is related to Steam and it’s DRM (ie. other games are suffering from this from time to time). Last year (sometime in 2014 or so - perhaps even earlier) Steam started infusing game executables with piece of code which closely resembles malware - therefore so many false positives since the...

Re: JustTrains MK1 Coaches Inverted Bogies
I contacted JT support and they advised me to reinstall some of the latest add ons containing Mk1s. I reinstalled JT Clan - and it appears that it solved this problem for all JT Mk1s (thus far)! If I had to speculate, I think that the older Mk1 packages are indeed bugged (in my case it was probably ...

Re: JustTrains MK1 Coaches Inverted Bogies
I did some quick and dirty testing of my JT rolling stock... and yes, you are right!
They are inverted!!!
I tested Clan, 4MT, Manor and Patriot packs thus far...
I will contact JT support and point them to this thread, I suggest you do the same.

Re: Graphics Card Issue?
Just a small remark... it is a popular myth, that GPU has somehow match the CPU, no matter what (or vice versa). GPU has to match: 1. target display resolution and desired level of antialiasing (this is very often underestimated) 2. the game itself (not every game supports every feature and vice ver...

Re: Your views on QuickDrive
Hi Felix ... Hi, you know, I suspected, that there might be some external forces at play, such as the difference in separator (as in "," vs. ".") or that DTG by some mistake/deliberate action started using newer CPU instructions - which by coincidence contain instructions for random number generati...

Re: Your views on QuickDrive
Felix, Hi. Hi! Obviously, we are missing something... and I am starting to suspect, that other factors are at play. I just tested 48.0a vs. 50.5a and my result were the same as ever. So, in order to clarify things a bit... I have few questions. What version are you primarily using? I am using 48.0a...

Re: Pacific Surfliner green sea problem
The sea can sometimes turn green due to a algae bloom. I live by the sea and it can be all sorts of colours depending on the colour of the clouds or if there is a big sea running when it can turn brown. Also there are 3 rivers flowing into it in the area were I live and when they flood the sea can ...

Re: Your views on QuickDrive
Yes, it of course these problems were reported, as a matter of fact several months ago... Please let me try to dispel this “myth” that QD does not work. ... Few notes: 1. I am afraid, that old ECML is not the best platform to test these problems due to its popularity among content developers and als...

Re: Your views on QuickDrive
If only was the QD AI generation working as it used to be... it has been damaged since 48.9a version and it is no longer random.
Other than that, I use both Freeroam and QD, both have their "pros" and "cons"...

Re: Quickdrive and AI
Now there is a catch... the QD AI gereration is not broken completely. It is just ignoring all date settings in preload file (as defined by QD scenario) and also, the random seeding of consists is no longer random (just look at it - always the same consists in same locations). Modern day routes will...

Re: Quickdrive and AI
Better late than never I guess...
Regarding QD, the "last known good" version of TS2015 is 48.0a. QD is broken since 48.9a.
42.9a is TS2014 and it will not work with TS2015, it will, of course work with backup copy of TS2014.
