Re: RDSL foliage pack available for download :)
And if someone really wants to look at it technically. If a freeware route builder includes one or more assets from those add-on routes or the vegatation pack. The route will technically become a payware route instead of freeware. There could be more payware routes than freeware routes as time prog...

Re: RDSL folege pack available for download :)
In reply to Theo and Andy L, the answer is honestly I don't know. Unless freeware models start appearing in any great quantity then route builders might have to consider the RSDL packs. However, bear in mind that previously there has been considerable resistance to paying anything for freeware, as ...

Re: RDSL folege pack available for download :)
If this is the future of train simming, it could be a messy one - while the individual pack price is reasonable add that up for each one that comes out, plus any routes you might need (like IOW) to obtain the required items and it could get expensive. For example, Lets say someone has the US versio...

Re: RDSL folege pack available for download :)
Indeed... I can see why RSDL are producing Payware items, as they do need some money to stay afloat - BUT - if all that is released is Payware then it'll slowly put people off as you'll need to purchase "x" pack for this loco "x" pack for these wagons, "x" pack if you don't want bare areas in a rou...

Re: Correct ways to stop and start
Now all I need is somone to explain when Im suppose to use Loco brakes and Dynamic brakes (which I believe is a bit of a can of worms looking at the US forums) if they did work what do they do? My layman's understanding is that you use the Loco brake when light engine, and to hold the train prior t...

Re: Correct ways to stop and start
As an ex-driver here goes To start of with, the HST. When starting, you should have the brake at about notch 2, power up to notch 2, then release the brakes, when you are up to about 10-15 mph, you can go to full power (hst's don't have field divert, so you won't go into the red) Stopping, you need...

Re: Downloading Cajon Pass addon
Ant, Incompatibility with Mk2 might be the problem, the Mk2 Readme on the RailSim site here: http://www.railsimulator.com/upgrade_mk2_readme_en mentions that: Any Rail Simulator Addon purchased BEFORE the August 2008 may not be compatible if installation is attempted after applying Upgrade Mk2. I su...

Re: KRS Brake and UK trains
It is a list of alternative values to put in the section of the 'class166_dmos.bin' and 'class166_dmocl.bin' files that define the visual positions of the "throttle" (as it is called in the files) control for each power notch. I've not tried it but I believe the object of editing the values to those...

Re: No hills
Skelter, First off the files seem to be in the right place but have you got the right hgt files? Do they cover your whole route, and is your route actually where you think it is? Check you've got the start lat/long right. Second, and I'm not sure if it's covered in the docs, but pressing "T" only ad...
