Ah, bless her. Nice to see the old girl run again. http://www.dapsites.com/pictures/video/CIG_Loughborough_200506.wmv You might find this of interest as well... Now if you could only get train heat to her through the diesel... Or maybe have Amp from the diesel pumped through to the motor coach. Now ...

There are relatively few lines that could pay their way in the real world: Matlock to Buxton (diversionary route for Manchester - London as in the 60's - taking freight traffic off the WCML and opening new potentially lucrative routes through the Peak District National Park to Manchester) Inland Wes...

We haven't got a Gronk, but if we need to top up the ED I gather we have a fuel tanke that drives in - then we just hook it up, top up and away you go. The best place to do it would be 14 Nursery Sidings 'round the back of the sheds; nice roomy concrete apron the comes to the running rails. Not sure...

I believe it should be the leading pan as the behaviour of the pantograph is more friendly to the OLE if the "elbow" is pointing away from the direction of travel. However, pendolinos are so rubbish that they'll just have whichever one is in working order raised. Apparently the Hornby model of the ...

And just for you Keelar, from Andy's website, here's a shot of the girl at Rothley http://andypic.fpic.co.uk/p29193071.html http://andypic.fpic.co.uk/p29193074.html Ah, the memories these pics bring back - cries of "Shut that bloody door!" wafting down the platforms at Waterloo, and many happy hour...

1393 was humming and buzzing away nicely, had a chat with the person responsible for buying her, apparently they got a phone call from the leaseco one day saying it's in Clapham Jn Yard, you want it, hundred quid and you provide transport. And so, badabingbadaboom, the GCR has it's very own slammer...

Well, if it consoles you any more, I had a good ole time riding 1393 today with 33116 on the front! Missing some seats in the MBSO and its a bit damp, but being restored to it's original BIG form and being reunited with it's buffet, eventually! 1396 was a proper little screamer - maybe one day the ...

Ahem... Every VEP and CIG in the erstwhile SWT fleet - including being the first man to drive 3417 after the repaint and the last man to drive her off Wimbledon Park yard, last man to drive 4CEPs (always wondered what would happen if someone had emergency surgery on a railway station - "Forceps, nur...

£15 Billion for a 30 minute saving..... Why bother? And how would you quantify the improve quality of life of anyone living within ten miles of a regional airport that links with London? It's not just the time, it's the reduction in air miles flown, and the commensurate decrease in noise and air p...

Worth supporting guys - and this from a third rail nut! The first thing that caught my eye about the AC Loco Group fleet is that I am qualified to drive the loco type they have as a yard shunter! But my money means that the rest of these antiques might one day run in anger again; thats got to be wor...

Interesting body shell, I particularly like that curved nose. However, can I make a suggestion as a real driver; albeit a shunt driver...? That side window is very pokey - could perhaps modify the lines to accomodate a larger side window so that us poor footplate types can see down our trains withou...
