I would imagine that would be the ammeter; namely how much electricity is being supplied to the traction motors.
If you had it in the red for the whole jounrey I would guess that Mackoy hasn't yet managed to develop a "working" indicator.

Ah yes; but you should try it in real life - ringing Control, getting the fitter out to the train, sitting there while they crawl all over the thing for twenty minutes before you realise you hadn't deactivated the DRA when you took power....
