Surely MML have some spare mkIIIs at Derby and Neville Hill? they would be near enough ready to roll? The MKIIIs at Neville Hill will be HST trailers, not LHCS. I consider the chance of any Loco Hauled stock between Hull and London extremely unlikely, which in my opinion is a great shame. The new G...

According to a post on the wnxx forum, a HST is likely to be hired as a stop gap, with a longer term view of using a 67, MKIIIs and DVTs.

Whether there is any truth in this rumour is anyones' guess. It would be nice to see, but I really can't imagine this happening.

Hi Glenn, For a 7-9 coach train with a reasonable sized locomitive at the front, you'll be looking at a consist of around five feet in length including the locomotive . Obviously these figures will be affected by the type of coaches you use - eg MK IVs are longer than MKIIs etc. The Bachman set look...

Hi Glynn, I personally opted to model in N-scale as I wanted to model realistic length trains in the space I have available to me 6'x3'. If I was to model in 00 gauge using this space, I'd only have enough room for an oval, a couple of sidings, and a few buildings. In addition to this, in 00 gauge, ...

I'd also recommend that you opt for N Gauge. The quality of rolling stock and locomotives has improved vastly since Farish was taken over by Bachman.

I've been thinking of going as I only live 30 miles away.

Is the MRC worth going to see? I've heard that the line is only three miles long, but that there are a lot of interesting exhibits on show.

Deltic Tour Tomorrow

Hi there,

Sure that I read somewhere about a tour between KX and somewhere up North which went via the Joint Line through lincoln. Is this the case? I don't seem to be able to find anything about it. Cheers

I went last year, I doubt I'll be going again. It seemed to be full of people who didn't know how to wash and had rather bad BO problems. Coupled with overcrowding which made it difficult to reach stalls and layouts, it was a thoroughly miserable experience. Having said that, I also went to Modelexp...

A few questions on the GCR in Nottingham.....

Hi there, I'm a Nottingham resident and have been into railways for a long time. Unfortunately I was born 25 years too late to have been able to enjoy the delights of the GCR. Just a few questions I have about the GCR around the time of closure. 1)When Nottingham Victoria Closed and was eventially d...

I got a Farish V2 (Green Arrow), a Farish Deltic in BR Blue, and a couple of MK1 Maroon coaches to go with my steam locos. I have to say that being new to N gauge I am really impressed with it. It is amazing how many coaches you can fit on to a reasonably sized layout. I've been running my large log...

Promises promises they just wanted to get shut of loco haulage what happens afterwards is they become short of units and trains become so over crowded people desert them for other forms of transport. Its happened on cross country routes already. I was under the impression (having read Arrivas press...

92212, although already in steam on preserved lines, should be going mainline with a bit of luck. Really looking forward to seeing a 9F in full fettle.

Am gutted to say that I don't think I'll be able to sample to welsh 37s. It is just going to take far too long to get to Cardiff and back from where I live (Lincoln). I understand that the trains replacing the 37+MKII rakes are actually going to offer more seats. Why is Arriva going for this rather ...

Cardiff-Rhymney Loco-Hauled Trains

As the era of passenger loco haulage draws to an end, I thought it might be a good idea to go on the Cardiff - Rhymney loco-hauled trains this Saturday.

Are all the diagrams between Cariff and Rhymney loco-hauled - even at weekends?

Cheers

Jon
