Someone, Please help me create a loco dead in consist......

Hi everyone, I've posted a message like this before in the Loco modelling forum and haven't really had any joy, however one last try. In the past I've seen steam locos being dragged by diesel locos back to their depots/museums. I want to be able to recreate these scenes in trainsim on the NVR. Howev...

Becoming a Train Driver

I know this sounds like I am taking my interest a bit too far....... but.... Its' something I'd really love to do and I'd enjoy having an excuse to be on the railway all the time :D What I'm wondering is how you'd get recruited for such a job and whether there are stringent medical requirements. I'v...

The end of HSTs & 47s

Lo all, I'm going to be very sad to see the Exit of HSTs and 47 hauled trains, it seems mad though, since the ones I've seen seem to be running fine. I'm just wondering what will happen to all this redundant stock? Will it be scrapped while in operable condition? Seems stupid to me.... Looking into ...

I've just downloaded a 9F to try this out on (since all my other locomotives are linked into consists). I've tried changing the type to 'wagon' and renaming the .eng to .wag. However, whenever I modify the contents of an eng file, trainsim says it is unable to read it. Is there a specific applicatio...

I've tried renaming the eng files to wag. However when I try to find the loco in the consist editor it isn't listed in either the coach, wagon or engine sections... any other ideas????

Sorry if this sounds stupid (I'm a n00b)

How would you go about creating a .wag file for a locomotive? Is there a program I can download which does this? I'm also wanting to make a 9F dead in tow.

Cheers

Jon

How do I make a locomotive effectively 'dead'

Hi all, I'm trying to recreate the Royal Train similair to how it was when the duchess steam hauled it. I know that the exact locos which featured in the train aren't available, nor is the ducess support coach, but I am trying to improvise. If anyone knows of the whereabouts of the aformentioned I'd...

Just one question....

Thought duchesses were supposed to be quite powerful, so how come there was a diesel on the back... was this just backup or for assistance?

Hi everyone, I read in a Railway magazine that the Duchess of Hamilton had been hauling a special (and had to be towed by a diesel cause of a technical hitch), and was also due to haul the Royal train. I was under the impression she'd been permanently withdrawn from traffic back in '96. Let me know ...

Hi there,

Just downloaded one of the standard (non crosti) 9Fs and was wondering if someone could tell me how powerful it would be compaired to say, an EWS class 66.

Also, when designing consists etc, what should I use, ie how many coal hoppers/mk1 coaches?

Cheerz

Jon
