Lincoln Christmas Market Special Trains
I took some footage of the Christmas Market Special trains at Lincoln on the 5th Dec. Unfortunately due to work commitments I didn't have time to edit and upload the footage I took until yesterday. Traction included - FL 66, EWS & Royal liveried 67s, WCRC 47s and a Bullied Pacific. Uploaded onto You...

Re: ATW LHCS
Nice to see loco haulage making a return. The only thing I really can't understand is why, if this is going to be a long term arrangement, haven't ATW invested in a DVT or DBSO. Dragging a dead loco around all the time must result in a lot of wasted energy and track wear. Is the ATW arrangement set ...

Re: NRM - "1968 - and all that" event
For those of you considering attending this event, it is well worth the effort and £11 entrance fee. I went on Sunday and had a brilliant time. The weather was also quite nice which was an added bonus. There were plenty of visiting steam and diesel locos assembled in the south yard, and seeing Olive...

NRM - "1968 - and all that" event
Having heard on the grapevine that the NRM are putting on a special event to commemorate 40 years having passed since the end of steam, I was rather disappointed that they'd dumbed down the name of the event to "1968 and all that". To the average rail enthusiast, 1968 will ring true as being the yea...

Re: CR spoon for scrap
I doubt Cotswold will scrap any of its' 47/7s as they are equipped with ETH - a valuable comodity in todays day and age. The only reason 47200 will have been scrapped is because it doesn't have ETH, which renders it pretty much a freight only loco. As Cotswold have recently taken on some non-ETH fre...

Re: The Changing of the Railways
I've been wondering whether we might end up with a Eurosprinter/Euro-Runner derivative HST replacement myself. It would make very good sense - especially factoring into account that the locos seem to be performing very well on passenger services for DB. Siemens are on the pre-qualified list of suppl...

Re: The Changing of the Railways
Although I'm a fan of locomotive hauled trains, I'd be satisfied if the trains I travelled on had sufficient seats, weren't cramped, and weren't noisy inside. I travel between Newark and Lincoln on a daily basis, and the train is invariably a 15x DMU. The seating layout is cramped, there is insuffic...

Re: Graphics Card
Anyone thinking of buying a new Graphics card should check out reviews of different chipsets and their performance, This is a good start http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/charts/vga-charts/warhammer-mark-of-chaos-v1-6,273.html# It is important not to base your judgement of a card based purely on the amo...

I went on the Scarborough Spa Express on Tuesday July 24th. It started out as a nice day, however the weather soon deteriorated.
Lighting conditions were a bit of a nightmare, please see below for my attempts.

MTUs - Making trains ugly MTUs are killers Cheers Bruce I know/hope you are probably joking, but I see this kind of rhetoric on a lot of railway forums from a large number of users. MTU power units may not be deemed to be as entertaining to listen to as their predecessors, however the user of them ...

Seeing the progress you have made on your layout is absolutely inspirational. I have an assortment of N Gauge rolling stock, which I am itching to build a layout for. I'm not sure I'll be able to build anything up to the standards you have, but I aim to build a layout on a 6' x 3' baseboard so I can...

BR HST Consists
Hi there,
Looking at purchasing an N Gauge HST Set in Intercity Swallow Livery. I was wondering if anyone could let me know the how a HST Set was configured back in the Intercity Swallow era - eg which coaches went where.
Thanks in advance,
Jon
