Re: Removing & replacing track Question
Consider creating your own wee scrap route, just lay a bit of track and experiment to find what you can do without the complications of lofts etc; get used to the tools then you'll be able to tackle something more major. The problem I was having is at Godley Jn on the Woodhead Route where a facing ...

Re: Steam Sale
Hi I'm new here. I bought Train Sim 2015 last year and got the automatic upgrade to 2016. The problem I have is that I want the Riviera 1950's route. Of course I did not get it with the free upgrade, so I thought I could buy the full Steam version in the sale. Steam says I already have the Steam ve...

Re: OS 1:2,500... Two questions
1. Is there any benefit to subscribing to http://www.old-maps.co.uk? i.e. Is the increase in resolution on the 1:2500 series beneficial compared to the free to view resolution accessible without subscription? 2. Can someone direct me to a / the tutorial on making decals from the OS map jpegs? I loo...

Re: OS 1:2,500... Two questions
And getting a map decal created and into use? :D I use RWDecal to generate the necessary Geo tile for the area. Then use RWTools to change it to DDS format. In Paint.net, I open the DDS, then overlay the map with the track plan (suitably sized and oriented), and adjust the transparency to suit. Sav...

Re: Yorkshire Coast Route Updated
If you mean the rail track has lifted, then there is no way you can coax it back. The main tracks.bin file contains information regarding the track "ribbon", and lowering one bit of track there, will lower other track elsewhere (probably out of sight). Neither can you replace one of the track tiles ...

Re: Is Newcastle to Kings Cross possible?
Mind you, Creative Rail are just about to release their OHLE version of Peterborough to York, so it will be possible to do the whole journey "under the wires"

Re: Is Newcastle to Kings Cross possible?
Note that your original "Newcastle to York" is pre-electrification, whereas the Creative Rail "York to Peterborough" and DTG "Kings X to Peterborough" are with OHLE. Well done if you have OHLE on Creative's York to Peterborough, as the modern version hasn't been released yet. ;) Oops - got it wrong...

Re: Incomplete Locked Scenarios
Using the Preview video controls on an "AI scenario" is a recipe for disaster. It was a good idea, but rarely works correctly. I simply use the "Drive" arrow from the Editor. I can fly to a set location before running, or during play "escape" and into World Editor to reposition myself. Then continue...

Re: WHY NOT?
can't place the 220 C/C or the 180 G/C. the editor allows me to pick those assets but when I place them then just weird results. hard to explain but just a bunch of scrambled colours. Sounds as if you have some corrupted files. Log onto Steam, find your DLC list, then untick, and then retick the 2 ...

Re: Is Newcastle to Kings Cross possible?
This sounds like important info. I had a feeling they'd be issues with long routes. However I wouldn't mind splitting the trip up into different parts, it'd take too long in one sitting anyway. As I've already got the included Newcastle-York and purchased Peterborough-Kings Cross can I just clarify...

Re: Is Newcastle to Kings Cross possible?
Although theoretically you can drive from Kings Cross to Dundee, you have to swap sims,it can't be run in one continuous journey Mike Once you go above 100 miles on a route, you start to run into difficulties regarding refresh rates and memory usage. So the 400 miles from Kings X to Edinburgh splits...

Re: This Forum - etiquette & evolution...?
Each to their own, I guess, but I get irritated by those who to my eyes seem to not bother using the correct sub-forums (should that be sub-fora?) when they are there for the purpose and I frequently don't respond to those who to me seem too lazy to use them when they are there ready to be used.
