Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

The Corris route is now available... That's some time lost on distraction!! And I've a week in the Isle of Man from tomorrow too, both may slow progress down for a little bit!! *** heads off to test the Corris locos when he should be packing for a holiday*** (and will be looking closely at assets an...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Hi everyone, Following on from the recent BBC Full Steam Ahead documentary, which featured the Ffestiniog a lot in the first episode (and is well worth a watch for anyone interested in how the railways shaped industry - it should still be on iPlayer), it seems appropriate to provide another update o...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Hi everyone, me again... Just by way of a quick update, my recent focus has been on my early work around Minffordd. Having built a lot more railway since I started nearly two years ago, I cast a critical eye over the first couple of miles and could see that what I thought was fine then actually look...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Hi everyone, It has been a while since the last update but things have progressed behind the scenes. There have been developments regarding how to release the route but the details are still being sorted out and there is a lot to do to get it up to a good enough standard to go public... Recent progr...

Re: The Kyle Line.

Hello, When you say 'kept you waiting', is that due to the timing of the stop (the red progress bar thing) or the signalling? *** edited after thinking more about this*** If it is the timing bar thing, I've noticed from my efforts at scenario creation that I've sometimes had similar issues when time...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Wow, I had no idea the Snowdon Mountain Railway was available too, I'll have to have a play with it sometime! With some time to myself over the next few days I might play about extending the scenery towards Waunfawr, although I'm not promising anything yet! It wouldn't add much operational interest ...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Great to see progress on the DLG! It really is looking fine! News from the real world is that the Earl of Merioneth is to become the first preservation-era built loco to be retired from service, being replaced by a new-build of James Spooner... so there is yet another reskin for contemplation!! News...

Re: Blocked player train when AI should be out of the way?

Hi guys, thanks for the messages regarding what had been investigated, I hadn't even been able to start looking at it before you'd worked out what the problem was - I'm glad to hear it is now all sorted! And thanks too to gptech for confirming the issue with soundpacks as requirements for scenarios,...

Re: Blocked player train when AI should be out of the way?

Sorry my earlier thoughts haven't helped, but I'm such a novice at scenario creation I'm not surprised! I have all the requirements except the AP sound pack for the 66. Out of curiosity, in any scenario creation, does the scenario author having an AP pack installed for a loco or unit used in a scena...

Re: Blocked player train when AI should be out of the way?

Hello, and welcome to the sometimes infuriating world of scenario creation! The dispatcher which controls the signals in the sim can be very frustrating sometimes. I have just about finished creating a scenario which involves 50 trains and had almost no issues with it, but when creating scenarios fo...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Hi everyone, After a few days playing around and driving a variety of routes, for 'comparison' reasons, of course, I finally got around to having another look at the Beddgelert water tower. The issue is definitely related to the asset - placing the two over each other seems to make clicking on the r...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

It would be great to limit the weather types available because currently I have the choice of several 'weathers' from the many various routes currently used for assets, and I normally just use the standard ones. Having all those options has allowed me to do some testing though: And I'm now also cert...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

I've only had time to do a little fiddling since Sunday, with the following observations... First, the water tower is definately not reliable as it should be. Even if I get lucky enough to get it to work, the arm swings out over the opposite track! So I need to play with that and maybe use a differe...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Lovely screenshots! It's really nice to see someone giving the route a spin! And it is interesting to see shots of it from another systems graphics setup - maybe the distant hills might be something I can change with a grass moor texture (if they aren't already) so they don't look so vivid/greengras...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

That is looking really good! Well done indeed! Master craftsmanship on display - I'm glad it made it up to Blaenau and also looks to have been hauling a respectable and realistic load of coaches whilst doing it! Seeing the route through the fresh eyes of a different photographer has prompted me to m...
