Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Hi everyone, It has been quiet regarding this project recently, but lots of work has being going on in various areas, it's just that not much is yet complete enough to show meaningful pictures of ... there are still a lot of gaps to fill and about six miles of close-up scenery still to complete. But...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Hearing that people are looking forward to the route keeps me motivated! Thanks! Since my last update, an awful lot of work (or maybe a lot of awful work?!) has been going on. I was feeling a bit bored of building seemingly endless fields and farms in the distance, so I shifted my focus a little bit...

Re: Ffestiniog Railway Stock

Hi everyone, With hindsight I would have probably waited a while longer before going public about the route - it was indeed already a year old when I made the first post a year and a half ago. The FfR bit has since been significantly improved and somehow morphed into including the whole WHR line too...

Re: Ffestiniog Railway Stock

Hi all, I don't normally post outside the main thread about the route but thought I'd drop in here to say how nice it is to hear such continued interest and enthusiasm for this project! To see work going on to expand the FfR fleet is really rewarding (I never expected to see a Fairlie gracing the li...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Hi everyone, It's about time for an update from digital North Wales, especially as the rolling stock stable is expanding - with many thanks to Steve for the hard work going on in that direction, lovely to see an obs car for the route! The railway itself is now complete as far north as Waunfawr stati...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Yes, a freeware release is most likely although if the circumstances were such that a payware route with significant good custom assets were viable I would consider the idea. Having had discussions with some well-known payware providers, I suspect that the time and associated labour costs in produci...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Hello, The WHR stable of Garratts really gives the line a certain individuality from other UK NG routes, that is for sure! But unless someone decides to build a digital one for TS20xx then we will have to live without for the time being. Personally, I'd like to see the ALCO Mountaineer loco, and wou...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Hi all, An update on progress, and screenshots, of the new bit of the route will follow in the next few days, but for now on the subject of suitable stock (and a teaser screenshot): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=819559779 The stock from Clear Creek, Kwa-Zulu (South African),...

Re: Route Editor Brightness

Hello, I've bumped this topic on another thread to see if we can get any ideas about this issue, as I have the same problem! I recently updated to a really good specification machine and since then encounter the same issue. It isn't related to the date or time or season of the scenario (I've tried c...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Hello everyone, With a recent update today on FB regarding a Corris expansion pack in the pipeline from SHG, it seems a good time to update on developments in another bit of digital North Wales! I got myself a nice new laptop a month ago, quite pricey but high spec and with a proper cooling system t...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Great work, Steve! Route building has been hindered in a really nice way by playing with *cough cough* I mean testing the DLG - I am really impressed! It is already a great addition to the NG stable, and having real FfR coaching stock in development is really good to see! There is a lot of NG freewa...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Hello, The request for station photos gave me an excuse to go for a drive, so I took an underpowered little engine for a run with five wagons of ballast and a brakevan... and take some honest pictures along the journey. The stations are a bit of an achillies heel in two respects. Firstly, as trains ...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Hi everyone, Thanks again for continuing to be interested in this project. The rebuilt Ffestiniog has taken time but it has been worthwhile, and mostly fun too! There is still a lot to sort out to get the route released (mostly the non-visual side of things now), but I am very happy to share a whole...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Hi everyone, I have resisted posting recently to prevent repeatedly bumping my own thread with minor updates... but now the situation is as follows: I am very happy to say that after a lot of hard work, the whole route from Porthmadog to Blaenau is now *almost* as good as I can make it, with correct...

Re: Jolly Good Fun ... Narrow Gauge rails in North Wales

Dear All, I'm back from the Isle of Man where everyone including the bus drivers were very nice. After a fair few miles of lovely heritage rail action it is back to the real world of modelling a digital version of the real world! Trying to keep a long story as short as possible... Many moons ago I e...
