Re: Unable to install 'The tunnel'
Well as I am unable to obtain a default MSTS installation, I opted to make a spoof of the original MSTS folder structure which resulted in:

Unable to install 'The tunnel'
Hey there. It seems that due to a problem with a .exe for this http://members.uktrainsim.com/filelib-directory.php?form_start=0&form_hide=on&form_country=998&form_sim=1&form_path=ty=9,cls=1714 which involves the inability to specify a path for the download and I was hoping that I could get some assi...

Re: The Highland Railway Crashes
Okay, so I got the highland route to work.
And its taken me literally all day, tons of frustration to get MSTS to start working.
I've also theoretically got MSTS 1.4 to start working (all of the errors stopped popping up).... But now the editor just stops responding.
It's simply not my day.

Re: The Highland Railway Crashes
Yeah, the installer said "The file C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsfot Games\Train Simualtor\train.exe is not a valid previous version and could not be upgraded". Oh, and by the way, I found "OpenRailsLog.txt" in a "desktop" folder in "My documents", hasn't been updated since 03/01/2014, Open Rails doe...

Re: The Highland Railway Crashes
There's a total of 1 file, it's not on the desktop (in fact it was located in some obscure place in my documents, in a folder named "Desktop") and it was last updated "03/01/2014". It does look like the only OR log on my HDD. Must have shunted it away during some large Open Rails operation and forgo...

Re: The Highland Railway Crashes
I guess there is no way to actually fix the problem then. Yes the editor does work, the problem is that when I include all of the content that I've modified for Open Rails, the MSTS editor and tools complains, saying: Error reading train database file File: Line: 79 Followed closely by: Error readin...

Re: The Highland Railway Crashes
How would you recommend that I fix the route so it no longer crashes or could the author issue a fix for the route? So we can see if this is a known problem, could you post your OR version and all the OR log please. It may be something to do with the route but you should just get a warning message,...

Re: The Highland Railway Crashes
Yeah, I agree, I was trying to edit the route but since MSTS editors and tools does not work with Open Rails all that well (or at all, as it seems with my windows 7 computer and heavily modified rolling stock to take advantages of the new Open Rails features), I was forced to look for other software...

The Highland Railway Crashes
Hey there. Iv'e been trying out The Highland Railway http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-directory.php?form_start=0&form_hide=on&form_country=54&form_sim=1&form_path=ty=9,cls=2350 on Open Rails, but it seems to crash at every opportunity, is there anything I should do? I have X tracks, New Roads, Uk F...

Re: Alternate The Bedford Hitchin Branch Downlaod
Ohh, that's right, I totally forgot about that, I understand now, that's a bit silly for UKTS to handle files like that. How about putting the .rar file parts within an additional .rar file? Therefore the file UKTS sees the first .rar file and change it, but it will not change the part's name. I kno...

Re: Alternate The Bedford Hitchin Branch Downlaod
It very much depends on which point of view you take. Will you try the .rar splitting method? Part of an experiment. I've only tried it with my friends, see whether the users like that method, or are you going to stick with the familiar? The best thing you can do is try new things. And if it fails, ...

Re: Alternate The Bedford Hitchin Branch Downlaod
BenDragon1337, Whether it's as a route builder or a downloader, I will always go for a single download with installer option. It does all the work, so no faffing about with lots of separate files. Right and its your free choice to do it that way. The fact I've had next to no complaints or issues ab...

Re: Alternate The Bedford Hitchin Branch Downlaod
So, going for consistency; should we have A single download four the route which is then easy to install with a clickteam installer? Or should we go for multiple downloads which invariably require the renaming of the files for the extraction routines to work correctly? ( Bob Latimer did wonders by ...

Re: Alternate The Bedford Hitchin Branch Downlaod
Authors upload their content as they see fit. A quick whiz through the forums will reveal multiple threads about routes that were split into multiple parts and some members inability to reconstruct the route once all the parts are downloaded. The thing is, "Authors upload their content as they see ...
