Re: Re: Train Simulator 2013

Basic issues fixed! :P They were not fixed in Rw, Rw2 or Rw3 TS2012 so I really don't have high hopes.. This is a redesign of HUD, UI and some small graphical tweaks on TS2012. Rw is turning or has turned into the 'Trainz' franchise of releasing a renamed product each year but keep the conten...

Re: Stop Scenery Loading Stuttering ?

and there's the problem............... Putting files on a RAM drive doesn't load them immediately, it just means that when they're called for they're able to be copied into the games 'working' RAM much quicker than being read from HDD, particularly a spinning one. SSD's provide a storage media that...

Re: Stop Scenery Loading Stuttering ?

Well for those that don't have an SSD but do have alot of ram installed the easiest way to elimiate the stuttering 100% is to use a ramdisc, move the files over to it that the route/scenario your going to drive will use and then make use of the `mklink` command to make ts2012 load the files off the ...

Re: TS2012 updating scheduled for Bristol-Exeter ?

Or you could just add the ts2012 effects to the hst rolling stock yourself instead of hoping that jt will get around to updating them. I added the new effects to all my non default hst stock, including the ones that came with this route.

Re: Train Simulator 2013

"In addition to further-enhanced graphics and performance..." Yeah..just like TS2012  Who knows, might actually get anti alias back, so you know oh..straight lines are actually straight and all the weird effects of no anti alias being applied has on multi-line surfaces and grills. Ah who am I ...

Re: It's coming

I've seen what goes into a console game development project, it's far from easily transferable. The issue is mainly to do with a performance overhaul, if today's best computers have trouble with keeping up with the Railworks game engine running at full pace, think of what must be done to make it ru...

Re: Multi core support......

I hear people saying this sim already uses 2 cores, well not on my 6 core cpu it doesn't That would indicate that you need to check why it doesn't on your PC, or why it doesn't show as utilising 2 of your cores. What CPU do you have, and what are you using to check usage? What's to check, It's not ...

Re: Multi core support......

Will better multi core support be added in train simulator 2013/ Railworks 4?. As opose to just being a debug option in the current version that actually worsens FPS on some routes. What do you guys think?. It really annoys me that i can run battlefield 3 and Dirt 3 Maxed out with 45-50fps. Whilst ...

Re: Sounds

RSC have their faults, and a long list of things they should sort out, but this problem is not of their making. Did I say the problem was of RSC's making? Microsoft ditched directsound with Vista, that os was released many years ago yet this sim is still using directsound, imo moving the sound engi...

Re: Sounds

Well you do need a good soundcard since sounds in game are scenery assets and very resource hungry, the fact that the game still relies on the now outdated microsoft direct x sound instead of the much better Open Al. I really hope RSC sort out the outdated sound system. Hope I'm wrong but I'm guess...

Re: AP MTU PRO pack issue

Hello there, The brake application and release rates were changed to accurately reflect what I saw on the day of recording and also so the sounds match the brake gauge. Regarding the issue with the 'EasyApply' program, try copying 'serz.exe' from your RailWorks directroy into the 'EasyApply' folder...

Re: AP MTU PRO pack issue

Has anyone managed to use that EasyApply program successfully? Can't even get that EasyApply app to work, keeps crashing with a run-time error 76 `path not found` error, will have to look into that but has anyone else noticed how the brake cylinder pressure is very, very slow to release now after r...

Re: SSD - my findings.

RW is all about the cpu. The one you have is excellent, but it's being under utilized. Doesn't really matter what cpu someone has when the game code isn't designed to make full use of the processing power, take my 6 core 1090t, all ts2012 does is max out 1 core, the other 5 are sat there with hardl...

Re: Update announcement

I hope they tie in head movement to the left thumb stick as in most driving sims. steve I'd much rather they bothered to add TrackIR support, moving your head to look around the cab would add a whole new level of realism than moving a thumb stick around on a joypad. Speaking of which, I can't say I...
