Re: Archive Guess the Location (6)
Unlikely, Richard. It's one of the ROD engines bought by the GWR after WW1 - it has a thoroughly out-of-place brass safety-valve bonnet!

Re: Demand For Freeware Routes?
Hi Keith and yes that would be good. My only concern with doing one for the freeware S&C right now is that I understand it is still being extended and improved etc. (I could be wrong). This could result in a scenario pack not working at a later date if the track got changed in some way. Some track ...

Re: E-G, signal not clearing.
You may well be able to pass it using the Tab key but the AI can do some strange things at times. I had a scenario where one signal would sometimes stay set and other times come off. It was always the same one and all the others were fine every run.

Re: Setting routes with key 9
I know what you mean! It's actually there but not necessarily turned on. Go to the display button on the top RHS of the 2D-map screen, open the pop-out and set the options to show everything.
Et voila!

Re: AI playing silly devils. Am I doing something wrong?
It appears to be something to do with the goods train leaving the main line and then returning to it. If I back the goods into a route-flagged siding in the yard and end the scenario there - the extra, scenario-flagged sidings I added don't work in the same way it seems - then the express pounds by ...

AI playing silly devils. Am I doing something wrong?
I have an idea for a pick-up goods train scenario for Kirby Stephen on S&Cv7. Rather than choreograph all the shunting movements I want to tell the player what needs to be done and allow them to work out the proper sequence for themselves. Getting the brake van onto the stock that needs picking up a...

Re: Your Opinions re RailWorks forum layout ?
Jim, it was just a thought. I visit the site several times a day and always use the new posts 'button' at the top of the index screen - something I do at most sites I use. I may not be much interested in other sims than RW but I assume there will be interesting threads in other areas so my thought w...

Re: Your Opinions re RailWorks forum layout ?
As a relative newcomer I haven't found the current structure too difficult to understand. One thing I would like, though I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't impossible, would be to have the ability to set a flag or flags in my profile for my simulator(s) so that when I do a search I only get releva...

Re: The Central Route For Railworks
One thing I've learned is to put things down when I start to get stressed about a deadline or that I'm finding it frustrating. Sometimes, just leaving it alone for a short period and letting the frustrations go away will lets me re-start work not only in a better frame of mind but, usually, with ext...

Re: Cooking and Eating
I enjoy cooking and like to make minor tweaks to a basic recipe and see what the outcome is. Someone bought us a tagine for Christmas and we've done several since, lamb, chicken and turkey being the first. The latest was beef and I thought that the seasoning needed to be boosted because the meat wou...

Re: New Route Announcement from RSC: Settle to Carlisle
It seems to me to be stock which has unpowered front axles that derail upon restoring a saved position... I may be wrong though... What's truly bizarre is that the editor saves in a form that does allow high-speed saves with steam locos but the game doesn't. I screwed up a Jubilee scenario by savin...

Re: New Route Announcement from RSC: Settle to Carlisle
My first reaction to the announcement was "Oh flip! Poor jetgriff!" but at least RSC have put their version into a significantly different time-frame and we now know that they did the decent thing and kept him in the loop. I'm in two minds about this version, though. Griff's version is a thumping go...

Re: Class 101 DMU released
And, to close my part in the thread, I checked in the installer's screen the directory within the Steam folder I needed to change to in the Program Files (86) folder and converted both classes. The result beggars belief! These are actually pleasant to drive now and it makes me wonder why RSC haven't...
