Re: Random jottings
Well, if we're getting into vintage radio, how about: Ned: Did you see the man who committed the murder? Eccles: Nope! Ned: So if you didn't see him again would you recognise him? Eccles: I t'ink so but my eyes ain't what they used to be. Ned: Really? Eccles: Yeah! Dey used to be my ears! The Moriar...

Re: Yard crane
Thanks to you both. I've downloaded the GWR pack and found quite a nice one here (http://www.trensim.com/lib/rs/index.php?act=view&id=217). I'll try both and see which suits best.

Yard crane
Has anyone produced a hand-operated goods-yard crane for RW? The kind that is shown in this photo: http://www.topforge.co.uk/Photographs/J ... 0Crane.jpg.

Re: Some TS2012 Route Creator Information
The 9 key will bring up the 2D map. That may show blue and white roundels by each manual point that you Shift + left click to change. If you don't see them, click on the marker in the top RH corner of the 2D screen and select all the options for items to be displayed. To change manual points from th...

Unfortunately I still can't get any joy. Oh, well! Back to the drawing board!

Re: TS2012 Woodhead route released
I don't think it matters for a diesel. They're no more likely to cause damage to the roof and fittings than the electrics, which I believe was the reason steam locos were kept to the old bores.

Re: Demand For Freeware Routes?
I don't think it intrinsically matters whether the end result is payware or freeware because the satisfaction of producing something you can take pride in should be the goal in both cases. I had a chap who worked for me once who had a simple mantra: "It'll do won't do!" and he'd never do less than h...

Re: "Railworks just got serious" - New ECML route?
I don't have this route but I have had a similar message in another scenario. It's a collision between AI-controlled trains and nothing to do with the player train so swapping your engine won't make any difference. In the scenario that gave me problems, one of the AI trains always failed to move and...

Re: AI playing silly devils. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for this. So it can be made to work? I wonder whether a timetable scenario as opposed to a standard scenario with timetabled stops makes the AI behave differently? I'll have to have another play this week.

Re: Coupling to an ex-AI train - possible?
You're right, Pete, it does work as you said it would. I cobbled something quick to test it. I haven't downloaded your scenario because of the unavailability of some of the files needed.
Thanks again,
Keith

Re: Coupling to an ex-AI train - possible?
Thanks, Pete. I'll certainly have a look at your scenario! From what you say, I'm telling the program too much by including a couple-to-rear instruction and the problem looks to be similar to another I'm having. In the scenario, I wanted to have the player's train move into a goods yard and shunt bu...

Re: New Route Announcement from RSC: Settle to Carlisle
It wasn't me but "far better" is, after all, a relative term. I think the work jetgriff's done is very, very good and if it wasn't for the spurious 15mph sections of track it would be close to perfect as a route from my point of view. That era offers many opportunities to the scenario creators, with...
