Generally I've known the GTX 970 to be one of the best for Train Sim as a lot of my friends have them and it seems to run the game quite well (I'm sure others on here will vouch for me too).

Are most of these crashes with The Western Lines route?

Quick drive also routes you via Wantage Road loop, the route deems it as a primary route (same with the passenger loop at Oxford).

Train sim's quite CPU bound so we can't really recommend what to do unless we know the rest of your computers spec.

I'm also one who would love to see a BR181.
