Hi Lucky enough to have taken a trip on the Conway Scenic Railroad back in 1986. Even managed to bring a railroad spike for my dad as a souvenir - needless to say airport security measures weren't quite at intensive in those days! Also managed to slip in a visit to the Mt Washington Cog railroad, al...

How are things in Louisiana Kev?

Hi Kev

Hope you're weathering the latest Hurricane ok - looks really bad in the new bulletins. 12 dead? Can't believe there have been so many hirricanes so close together. My thoughts are with you and yours, and with anybody that's suffering through all this.

Cheers

Hi Matthew Like Ron, I've got a 120GB h/d that's practically full of MSTS stuff - also a legacy of being on broadband! A 20mb file I think nothing of downloading now, and my collection of routes is growing almost daily LOL! I keep thinking that I really ought to be more discerning - but there IS jus...

Hi Ron I know it's a pain but it might be worth downloading that file again - just to be sure. It also might be worth trying WinRAR. In some ways it behaves better than Winzip. I've not heard any reports so far of people using it and having problems with the Clinton, but I've seen others struggling ...

MSIE can do that? Bloody hell! Never knew that. I'm using NTL as an ISP, but connect using IE. As I'm on Broadband I don't use Getright etc., but I've never had any problems with filenames. Hmmmmm....

Hi Ron Yep, I know! There's so much good Freeware stuff it makes you wonder whether it's really worth buying Payware. After all, I've had some real dogs out of both categories, but at least the Freeware ones are just that! Ironic though - I'm a subscribed member on UKTrainSim, and I'm not really a B...

Hi Ron Ok the files I downloaded ended up named as follows: upcs (which looks like a normal zip file) upcs.z01 upcs.z02 upcs.z03 upcs.z04 upcs.z05 upcs.z06 upcs.z07 upcs.z08 upcs.z09 upcsdocs (which looks like another normal zip file) By unzipping that first file (upcs) it should automatically do th...

Hi Ron LOL - you're about right there! I just feel a bit numb at the mo. I keep hoping it's "just around the corner", but this is one hell of a corner! :o I guess I could claim a refund and use the dosh to subscribe to Train-sim as a member instead - at least I'd get something I could use! LOL But I...

Hi Ron Just d/loading Clinton myself, and it installed with no problems using Winzip. I just created a temporary folder and called it Clinton. I unzipped upcs into this folder checking off the box for "use folder names". It should automatically unzip everything (including the other files) into this ...

Another update. The Surfliner should have been ready for 4th Sept 11.59 (Pacific Time). This email arrived as an explanation (quote): "The reasons for this failure to deliver are many, but they essentially all come down to the fact that the route is just not ready." (Andrew H. Held, Owner, Facing Po...

Hi Kev Just been to Train-sim to d/load this one - but I can't get in to the FL!! I guess: a) they may be updating with the latest files for today b) the Clinton is being heavily subscribed to c) there's a lot of disgruntled Surfliner customers looking for an alternative LOL My guess is c) Your scre...
