Re: Swapping steam to diesel on Riviera 50s

OK, I got something similar to work, albeit it required one other effort changing (the 'cannot pass blockage' error moved at one point, which gave a clue) and in the process I also removed turned off all the 'timetabled' settings. Still, I've got something which more or less works so I might just st...

Re: Tile loading stutter worse in 64 bit?

Any chance it's running on the integrated graphics instead of the 960?

Re: Swapping steam to diesel on Riviera 50s

Well done! I failed to find that sweet spot for Teignmouth Approach, clearly...

No, nothing else swapped (yet) - I started with the player train only.

Many thanks, I'll give that a go soon and see if I can replicate it!

Re: Tile loading stutter worse in 64 bit?

Well, I can confirm that moving to a quad-core CPU (with equal or slightly better single-core performance) does indeed make the stutters pretty much imperceptible in 64-bit as well. I can also say that Railworks.exe can use slightly more than 50% (i.e. more than two cores equivalent) during game loa...

Re: Swapping steam to diesel on Riviera 50s

No further luck this evening. I couldn't find a performance value that got it to Teignmouth Approach; deleting various pick-ups and drop-offs didn't help either. I tried deleting other services but realised that deleting the pick-ups and drop-offs may have broken it, so went to start again and follo...

Re: Tile loading stutter worse in 64 bit?

Thanks 60037, that's interesting. Your CPU has slower single-thread but plenty more cores than mine, and still suffers.

Can you quantify the difference in FPS and CPU utilisation during normal running, and during a stutter, for 32 bit and 64 bit?

Re: Swapping steam to diesel on Riviera 50s

Sorry, should have made it clear I'm cloning it first, then doing all the editing / swapping / mucking about...

OK, hadn't thought to look at the performance values. I'll give that a go next time I get some free time to do so, unless you beat me to it!

Many thanks for having a look! :)

Swapping steam to diesel on Riviera 50s

Does anyone have any clues as to where I'm going wrong? I'm trying to swap a Warship (from the Hydraulics Pack) into 'Dawlish Storm', one of the default career scenarios on Riviera 50s (a pick-up goods working - it may be relevant that it has various shunting instructions). However, whatever I do it...

Re: Tile loading stutter worse in 64 bit?

Having submitted a support ticket, here's the official response: The 64-bit version will be more demanding when compared to the 32-bit one. As your system is currently below the game's minimum listed requirements for 64-Bit you'll face limitations in performance. To get better performance you'd need...

Brio Garratt

Some while ago, my little lad developed a fascination for Garratts (which I must admit I can understand!) - after being introduced to the concept he took to constructing his own by coupling a wagon either end of his Brio 'Thomas'. So, I promised him that one day we would make one together. I'm not s...

Re: Tile loading stutter worse in 64 bit?

But for either of those, do you notice a difference between the 32 and 64 bit versions of TS?

Tile loading stutter worse in 64 bit?

I've just run an interesting experiment. I thought the tile stutter was worse than I remembered, so I ran an A-B-A test starting with the 64 bit version, then using 32 bit, then back to 64 bit (playing Icy Climb on WCMLoS). Both versions reported a steady 25 fps (capped) using EVGA Precision X, most...
