Re: Amending Procedural Textures?

Hi Geoff
Thanks for your suggestion regarding the tack under loft. It's something I hope to try in the future when I feel more confident.
At the moment just dabbling with some re-skins which I hope to share in the future, Your route looks impressive!
Cheers

Re: Amending Procedural Textures?

gptech and fakenham Eureka - I have got it to work! Thanks for your kind assistance - really, really appreciated! On balance think my first re-skin was easier! What I did wrong initially was typo errors in amending the bin files - a missed letter - and it don't want to work! Can go to bed feeling so...

Re: Amending Procedural Textures?

gptech Thank you for taking the trouble to respond once more! Wow - not quite what I expected. I have edited the xml file per fakenham's advice and got a lot of white blank space and missing track too! Checked my edit and thought I had spotted my error - typing TP instead of TPR! I was wrong still n...

Re: Amending Procedural Textures?

gptech Thanks for message - I am now pulling what hair I have left out of my head! No doubt at the end it will seem "easy" but now I am totally confused! Really haven't a clue what I am doing - re-skinning seemed a doddle or I am I mistaken. A step by step idiot's guide would be welcome if you can a...

Re: Amending Procedural Textures?

Hi Fakenham I seem to be not the only one with ballast problems! Have downloaded the Mayflower Route - nice. I have found a dark brown texture in the paint palette but even with assets ticked I cannot get the Mayflower paint palette to show in the route I want to "play with" - I am obviously missing...

Re: Amending Procedural Textures?

Tom, some excellent brown ballast exists in the Mayflower Line route, available on here. Just need to edit some files to use the Mayflower textures - I've done it and it's pretty OK to do using RWTools. Hello Fakenham Thanks for your pointer to the Mayflower Line textures - sorry to say it's your r...

Re: Amending Procedural Textures?

Is this for your own route or are you editing an existing one Tom? Had hoped to edit an existing one - just don't like the textures used either side of track to vegetation line - hoped to match the GEML ballast track colour. Had a quick look at the Wang tutorial - my initial reaction was not to bot...

Re: Amending Procedural Textures?

gptech and Acorncomputer Thank you both for your assistance. gptech - I was hoping to create either a replacement ballast that I could "paint" onto a route, or alternatively create a texture (loft?) that I could "lay" either side of the track. I have found a texture in GEML which is "ballast underla...

Re: Amending Procedural Textures?

gptech - Thank you for the reply much appreciated. I have only just started dabbling in the "inner workings" and recently managed a re-skin of nothing more than a white gate! I opened RW Tools - edit assets - went to procedural in Kuju -add list and then picked a bin file. Thoght I could clone for r...

Re: Paint for ground textures

I too am struggling with "amendments" to textures! I have tried opening procedural textures with a view to being able to lay a ground texture either side of the track to the grass edge/side of the permanent way. I have opened a seperate thread on that topic in the forums.RW Tools says I can't amend ...

Amending Procedural Textures?

Been trying to implement a ground texture that I can use instead of the default grass/ballast texture available. I am looking for a dark brown ballast texture - everything I have is too grey! I see that I can't amend a procedural item - RW Tools say it's not possible. Had thought that I could lay an...
