Re: Train Simulator 2012 (Part 3)
So far so good. My machine appears to be handling the upgrade well enough, despite it being far from top of the range over a year ago. Given the issues that many have reported here already thats worth a sigh of relief. Edit- it might be worth saying that I have an Nvidea graphics card. I've only had...

Re: Cheating?
"includes scenarios in which unexpected events unfold and allow the player to unlock more missions and rise through the ranks of their fellow engineers. Start off switching in Altoona Yard and progress to driving passenger trains on the main line, and if you do well enough you will be asked to driv...

Re: Cheating?
Well, career scoring seems to be based largely upon arrival times. Perhaps if [ potential cheating method edited out after reading post below, to prevent anyone getting ideas ] then a score like that would be possible. Who knows? I agree it's a rather sad business if that is what people are doing. S...

Re: TS2012 Woodhead route blog
Great to have this confirmed as I still half wondered if it was all a wind up! The Woodhead route always seemed to be something of a railway version of Jurassic Park, such was the time-stood still feel that it had. As such its a inspired choice of route, suitable for steam, any colour of diesel and,...

Re: Great Scenario Challenge 1: IMPORTANT! Uploading Scenarios!
Hi,
For a multi-part scenario, do you want the three parts sent seperately in different e-mails, sent seperately in a single e-mail or bundled together and sent as a package?
Cheers,

Re: Individual challenge: Yard Pilot
Final update. At last, I've completed this entry to the challenge. My work began with a signal problem, of the sort that will be all too familier to scenario writers, so I suppose it is fitting that my work ended with a signal problem too. One signal, toward the end of part 3, is proving to be parti...

I'd much prefer some decent lumber to a bit of MDF, if thats what you mean!RSderek wrote:you should just look for something you can drum up interest. The clues are out there.

Hitachi? Yawn!
Fair do's to them that likes that sort of thing, but I can't summon up much interest in this at all.

Re: Individual challenge: Yard Pilot
Update. Thats everything more or less completed. Some final run throughs and a bit of polish and I'll be done. Beta-testing is a godsend. It's all to easy to forget that you know what you're supposed to be doing in a scenario but that someone else wont and will need to be told clearly what is going ...

Re: Train Simulator 2012 (Part 2)
Woodhead? Really! Is it christmas already?
I dont really need an excuse to dig out one of the most atmospheric railway books in my collection, This Was the Woodhead Route by S.R Batty, but I'm going to anyway.

Re: Individual Challenge - Paddington Bound HST
Well, the first thing I'd try would be to position a AI loco on the same line your player train will be running on at a point a few miles west of Reading, Tilehurst say. Set it to start about ten to fifteen minutes before you are due to pass that point, have it use exactly the same route you want to...

Re: Individual Challenge - Paddington Bound HST
I feel your pain. I've never encountered this particular signal before but some are definately more troublesome than others. Best advice is to keep hammering away at it. Does an AI train run past the signal, or through the section of track it controls, during the scenario? If not, try getting one to...

Re: Individual challenge: Yard Pilot
Yet another update. Thats part 3 scripted and tested and work on adding the messaging and static scenery to parts 1 and 2 is well underway. If nothing else, this challenge has opened me up to the idea of adding scenario specific scenery. I never used to bother adding anything beyond what was require...
