Re: Thomson Interactive
Anyone guess where I grew up as a kid?! Not far from me by the looks of it. I'm with you on this one, Jimmyshand. Try as I might I simply can't summon up much if any enthusiasm for the modern railway scene in the UK and, for me at least, Railworks is a welcome chance to travel back in time. I'm sur...

Re: A warning about GPU overclocking
This is good and perhaps even overdue advice. I've watched with growing befudlement as this forum has turned into a technical seminar over the past week. Overclock this, download that, adjust the settings of the other. Fortunately it's all greek to me and I'm not even slightly tempted to start messi...

Re: Train Simulator 2012 (Part 3)
Had a final hurl for old times sake. A scenario of my own, 37 hauled Mystex from Glasgow to Carstairs (peak takes over for run to Durham) via Hamilton and Wishaw. Those were the days! Only fair to report that no issues encountered with the exception of some slight but noticable changes to AI and pla...

Re: Train Simulator 2012 (Part 3)
Just tried a run with Argyle Stopper on WCML. TSX on, custom settings in game and not much left to turn down. Managing FPS of around 18, rising to 21 when clear of Lanark Junc but dropping to 14 when passing other traffic and ocassionally at other times. AWS sundial in the cab flickering like crazy ...

Re: Additional time for RW3 Related Scenario Tweaking
Hi, Yeah, thats only fair. Looks like I got lucky. My entry can stand a few minor AI timing differences, and removing a misplaced particle cone would be outwith the spirit of the challenge rules anyway. If anything, chosing fog, rain and showers as the weather conditions for the respective parts of ...

Re: Individual challenge: Yard Pilot
Testing, testing... Part three tested and okay. Phew! I did notice an errant particle cone that I had missed before but that and a few AI timing changes, apparently due to the updgrade, are all I have to worry about. Given what Kromaatikse has warned of in another thread, http://forums.uktrainsim.co...

Re: Individual challenge: Yard Pilot
Testing, testing... Part two tested okay. A few minor differences in AI timings which I assume is down to the default loco changes in the updgrade. None of them make any real difference, though I've lost a couple of passing moves that I had tried my best to build in for particular locations. No bigg...

Re: Total rant on railsim 2012
Lovely rant, but completely wrong... Really? It is expensive. RW3 dosen't run as well in legacy mode as it was promised it would. It dosen't run properly at all in TS2012 mode for a lot of us. Upgrades are already being thrown around this forum as the silver bullet. Seems to me that Dave138 got a l...

Testing testing..
Part 1 okay.
If you're lucky enough to be able to run TSX then the weather effects really pay off.

Re: Individual Challenge: Winter Wonderland
That makes sense, given the new ability of AI to couple up to statics. Thanks for laying it out so clearly. Hopefully, examples of these new potential conflicts will be relatively few on our own scenario creations but if they do occur then yeah, removal or relocation of the offending static or redoi...

Re: Individual challenge: Yard Pilot
True, and thats how I realised that the missing items were actually still there but not being rendered visible in game. Thing is, even with TSX off I find I'm having to play appearance off against performance and the happiest medium I've been able to find looks worse, when taken in the round, than R...

Re: Running RW3 on Dual Core Processors
The simple question is, how do you run RW3 with Dual Core Processors, also what is the reccomended Graphics Card setting for Nvidia Geforce GT 240 cards. Are we still looking for the railworksproc2.exe settings or has that been updated? I'm looking for the same answers, having an AMD dual core and ...

Re: Individual challenge: Yard Pilot
Testing, testing... Testing of part one has, so far, thrown up a missing particle effect and a missing trackside figure. The first I can live with, though that signalman is going to having a cold shift!, the second matters however, as the figure in question is a member of yard staff that the player ...

Re: TS2012 Woodhead route blog
Not sure that yard is Mottram though, looks a bit on the big side and the mainline curves the wrong way at the the far end. It looks right to me. The sorting sidings where located at the west side of the Glossop Road bridge, where there was a slight curve to the right. The reception sidings where t...
