Inside Passenger view does not work when car is picked-up
I can create an Activity with player consist of loco plus passenger coaches, and if one of the coaches includes an inside passenger view then I can see this on the View5 key. However if I create a second activity with same loco backing down to pick up a static consist of the same coaches that were i...

Missing track after Dunfermline ?
Great route, very pleased with it, but with my install there's a section of track missing north of Dunfermline, just after the point where there is a tree in between the two tracks. You can see the next track section in the distance. In AE the missing section is between Lon -3.41817 Lat 56.08098 and...

Card or Cpu ?
I upgraded from a P2-450 and 16Mb TNT card to an Athlon2400 and Ti4200 128Mb card. Improvement was dramatic, but it's hard to know how much is down to the card and how much is down to the cpu. I still find FPS gets lower on activities with lots of AI traffic of static objects. I think that the cpu i...

FAT32 vs NTFS
I started with MSTS on Win98 / FAT32 pc, now on XP / NTFS pc. Don't think I've ever had a problem due to MSTS files in either set up, and it's hard to compare between the two pc's because the XP one has much faster cpu / graphics card. However I cannot think of a good reason not to use NTFS under XP...

Static Consists not showing in Act- Advice Needed
Just looked at the AE_Normal_View entry in the registry. It's set to 003fcc1f. this is different to the value it had a few days ago 0037000d. Now I am not sure if I need to delete the AE_Normal_View key, or just the data for this key. Tried Modify data and I cleared out the existing value but Regedi...

Ssstatic Consists not showing in Act
Thanks for your help, Not had time to correct the registry entry yet, will do later today. The problem showed up in the Swansea-Carmarthem route, but it is not specific to it, and the suggested Reg fix would I guess affect all routes. Good to know it worked for Dforrest. A few days back I changed th...

Outline of static consist does not show in Activity editor
I am trying to place a static consist. I select the place where I want it on the route map and Rt click Place Consist, then select a consist. I expect to see the purple outline representing the objects in the consist, but nothing appears. If I run the Activity the consist has been placed ok. Trouble...

It's hard to say whats the best card. You can read the mags and get the winners of the road tests, currently this will be a GF4 card with lots of fast memory, but if you are adding the latest card to an old computer there are some pitfalls. Will your power supply cope with the demands of a new card,...

Memory Leak ?
I memory leak is, I think, when a program does not correctly release all the memory it used after it has finished running. This can mean the computer thinks the memory is still being used by the program, and thus is not available for use by other programs. If you keep running a program with a leak y...
