Re: nVidia Control Panel settings ignored by TS2014

ttjph- You're most welcome, I'm glad you found it useful :D Here's a question for you Peter, any idea how I can override texture filtering in TS? I swear the ground textures are blurrier now than TS2012 for example. I guess another good one would be to get LOD bias working. But no matter what I set ...

Re: Big news?

"To succeed, we know we need to be at the absolute cutting edge of technology. " Pity they don't extend that philosophy to include TrackIR Don't worry, Hoovering Simulator 2015 will no doubt support 64bit, TrackIR, and RailDriver. One can only hope they'd find it easier to get the sounds right on t...

Re: nVidia Control Panel settings ignored by TS2014

Peter, I used Process Explorer on a second monitor, along with monitoring my VRAM usage and RAM usage. I have 4GB of VRAM (EVGA GTX 680) and 12GB of RAM. During my test of the GEML scenario, RAM usage never got above 2-3.5GB, and VRAM usage was about the same if a bit less. I'm aware of the fact the...

Re: nVidia Control Panel settings ignored by TS2014

A quick rundown of why the scenery settings 'Highest' and 'High' perform so differently: 'Highest' calls for the maximum quality textures available. This means TS2014 is using lots of largely uncompressed textures. 'High' - Most uncompressed textures will have a "_nmc" counterpart that is the same t...

Re: ECML London to Peterborough from RSC

is there any way to activate the desk lights on the RSC321? I found the button for the 365 desk lights, but having had a look round the cab (zoomed in) I couldn't find anything answering the charge of 'desk light' switch to illuminate the speedo etc. Pressing 'L' only brings on the in cab light. II...

Re: ECML London to Peterborough from RSC

This is something that dates way back to the original Rail Simulator HST. It is the reason why many HST reskins do not include a buffet car. The loco hauled buffet car is probably a New/updated model (I think loco hauled buffet cars, at least in real-life, have a slightly different window arrangeme...

Re: RSC's GEML

Don't worry, I didn't know what cab occlusions were until I imported my own model and found the same thing happening with the shadows. Yeah, it requires someone at RSC with the geo source to make a quick box around the cab (excluding windows) and apply an occlusion material to it. Barely takes...

Re: RSC's GEML

I'd be inclined to think it's not as simple as just the stock having an issue, but rather a combination of stock, route, and limitations in the game. It really is just as simple as not bothering to put an occlusion box on the outside of the cab. The reason it happens on the default 47 is because it...

Just a heads up, it'll probably disappoint you if you go by how the 90 was released- there's still a lot to refine just yet.

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse Class 321

Looks great. Please sir, could you make texture/window weathering tutorial for the rest of payware/freeware developers :D Making realistic wear&tear is one of the hardest part in texture making and is very easily overdone. Developers either do that or ignore it alltogether and make everything shine...

Re: Class 319 EMU

Hi Ben,

Thankfully the 321/319 and all future projects will not be delayed because of what's happening at Enigmasim. That post is largely regarding other members of the company. If anything it should speed up my developments as I am able to devote more time to TS rather than FS.

A link to the preview shot for those that don't use FB: http://i6.minus.com/iSrNjnrhWenBr.png It was mainly to highlight the window weathering, took me quite a long time and still needs tweaking.. Yeah we're certainly getting closer now. There's so many exciting elements of this unit I really can't ...

I think you guys have the wrong thread. The images above are of the RSC Class 321, and not mine or Armstrong Powerhouse's.

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse Class 321

Wow! I love how "organic" that looks, it looks less like a sterile computer game model and more like the real thing. Am I the only one who particularly likes the simple things such as the throttle, brake and horn black ball handle ends having just the right amount of sheen, and a fully modelled pho...
