Re: Train Simulator 2012 (Part 2)

Sorry to add yet more to the-list-of-constant-question-asking thread, but will we be seeing separate specular maps instead of the alpha controlling the environment map + specular? And what are the possiblities of adding our own custom environment maps for things such as inside cab reflections? (Look...

If people can help locate the various reference required I don't see why not :)

Re: Class 423 4VEP

Excellent cab textures. The attention to detail is amazing. May I just point out that it was very rare for 63 stock to have that type of speedometer. The speedometers showed a maximum of 100 mph with 2 mph small increments between 20 mph larger increments. I haven't a picture to show atm. Thanks Ye...

Re: Class 423 4VEP

Update time! http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/628/vepc1.jpg Click for high resolution (1600px) Started work on the cab over the last week since I managed to finish enough of the external body to get an accurate shape. Also worked out to how to add a glass overlay that shows dust specs. So far the en...

Re: Class 423 4VEP

Thanks Mike, those'll come in very handy!

Another little something I've been working on for the VEP.

Not a masterpiece of a render, but at least you can see what it is.

Re: Class 423 4VEP

Quick update - I've gone out and got myself a ton more reference, with which I realized many inaccuracies with the current model. Unfortunately fixing them would take just as long as restarting, so I've done just that and restarted from scratch, although this time with hopefully less errors. http://...

Re: A few questions about RW from a new guy in town...

Thanks for the help guys. It'll be interesting to see who does the first fully functional train, or at least, NGX level.

A few questions about RW from a new guy in town...

Hi all, I'm quite new to the scene and have been stacking up a few questions in the last weeks that maybe some of you can help me answer. So in no particular order... 1. Why haven't (to my knowledge) any developers released paintkits for their trains? I understand some developers don't want to spend...

Re: Class 423 4VEP

That's shaping up very nicely indeed. Do you mind me making a couple of suggestions? One is not to round the windows so much - perhaps keep the sides and tops of the frames straighter for the equivalent of an inch or so. The other is to raise the lower edge of the quarter-light frame by the equival...
