Re: Next locomotive?
I'm not the biggest American traction fan I like my BR loco's but I'll buy them drive them anyway. We have the Challanger, we have the "Big Boy" what about the diesel answer to these beasts, the EMD DDA40Xs "Centennial"? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMD_DDA40X Certainly cant be classed as modern hav...

Re: West Coast M'line and Frame Rates!
I think that Railworks PC performance is dictated by the number of consists that are setup in the scenario rather than the size of the Route. So as long as you do not run scenario's with lots of consists I think the route will be fine on your computer. For instance, in the San Benardino - Barstow ro...

Re: Career Scenarios
I'm sure RS have said that the career system is work in progress so maybe they will improve it, however if they do that then surely that would invalidate all the results that have been recorded so far? I agree with BigVern, a " standalone career record" for all scenario's would have been much more u...

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse.....a request/suggestion
I would pay good money for improved track sounds and some beefier flange squeel would only increase my eagerness for such a product and, also if possible to implement shorter squeels when going over points or sidings etc would be the icing on the cake. The flange sounds used in the Mk3 sounds from A...

Re: Hard disk arrangement
RAID 1 should give faster read performance, as data can be read off either one of two drives, so in theory the data transfer rate is doubled and the seeking performance is improved (because whichever disk is already closest can be used) - in practice its never quite as good as this of course. Write...

Re: Hard disk arrangement
Yes djt01 the software RAID driver would eat cycles on on your CPU however I would expect the OS to run the software RAID driver on a different CPU core from the main Railworks software thread? So yes if you are running a single core CPU system then RAID 0 or 1 would slow down railworks but should h...

Re: Hard disk arrangement
SSD's will give you better performance than traditional mehanical disks across the board when reading (not writing) (not just in Railworks) Although it prob wont fix the stuttering as someone said this is caused by memory management however your Raikworks loading times will improve so you can drive ...

Re: Another Chinese Winner!
Thanks for the vid post! In fact the cab is so well accuratly simulated that they have even got the drivers pack of ciggies on the dash! The Chinese love their ciggies big time and they are a major part of their culture, they are regarded as the best possible gift you can give to someone and to refu...

Re: Isle of Wight: Pier Pressure Scenario
Good idea, thanks I will do so! Just a note to Kruztee, I have just worked my way through and completed all the IOW scenario's and did not encounter any problems with timings, I bought my IOW from Just Trains direct and I'm not sure if they are exacty the same. I'm sure that this timing issue is cau...

Re: small features i'd like to have
Thanks for the info Styck and Dapor! Dont have those locomotives (yet). Additionally I'm sure I saw a patch (or a thread discussing it) on the UKTS which did this for the HST along with changing the brakes to notched control, which made me think it would be possible to implement in other locos. Look...

Agree that a Brush Type 2 would fill a big hole -- no, I don't mean bury it... Rik. I agree with you Wikkus though I am waiting on the class 27as well, hopefully will be out in time for Northern Lights route which is my real life home line, Edinburgh - Dundee was Type 2 Sulzer central in the late 7...

Re: small features i'd like to have
I would'nt mind the ability to control two tone horns so I can just give a quick low or high toot when I'm in the yard. Maybe 3rd party developers could implement this feature in their loco's perhapes make use of the bell key for one of the tones?

Re: DT Mark 1 Coaches..Passenger view?
Hi mate the DT Mark 1 coaches do not have a passanger view mate as far as I am aware. For information please note that the DT Mark 2e caoches do have a passanger view. I also know that the RSC CLass 101 DLC also do not have a passanger view, it depends if the developer includes this view. Thats all ...
