Re: Embankment lofts
Rik, Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but logic suggests I "select" the length of track I want my embankment on, click the offset tool, set the offset (so the yellow arrows are pointing inwards toward the track) and select "Embankment Slope" and click the yellow arrow I want to align the embankment to...

Re: Content Finder
I like the sound of this, I note that rivimey stated that the program would correlate missing assets to web pages, not download them, so I don’t see anyone having a problem with that. That's right... it might not even point you at the exact page - it depends on the site - but it will at least say "...

Re: Freeware Asset Pack #1
I think we should probably stick to the RW designed way of doing things. This means a developer folder with any number of "product" sub-folders. Based on this the developer would be UKTSFreePacks (or what ever is decided on) and then each pack would have their own product folder I like "UKTSAssetPa...

Re: Freeware
I'm no expert, but I would expect that GSV's picture quality might not be as good as you'd hope (distortion and massive jpg compression), and that you would suffer in many cases from lack of back/side views.smarty2 wrote:Wouldn't google street view suffice for that?

Re: Freeware Asset Pack #1
I would be happy to help in anyway things like this [album 133783 Bacup538.jpg] I can see exactly where I'd put that - it's almost identical to some houses in Cambridge I have been trying to place. I'd want to reskin it - the Cambridge brick is a kind of fawn/cream colour - but I think given the mo...

Re: Freeware Asset Pack #1
Hi I am guessing here that the hay needs all four season texture sheets so that in anything other than summer a transparent texture is covering the model. This can also work for snow as you say so that a snowman, for example, only shows up when a winter texture is called for. I'm no expert, but IIR...

Re: Freeware Asset Pack #1
Hi Can I start off by saying thank you to all those who have the skills to make assets? What I would like to see more of: - Houses - all sorts, big/small, red/brown/cream/grey, country/town, old and young, detailed and basic. - Detailed trees and shrubs - preferably 3d for close-up use - 3d/close-up...

Re: Freeware
I strongly agree mate. I personally feel that assets such as houses/warehouses, although not too difficult to build, make a massive difference to the feel of a route and give it a greater sense of individuality. I would be happy to contribute all the assets ( maybe half a dozen or so) that I have m...

Re: RailWorks Magazine - subscribe now!
Hi I've subbed and seen the first edition too. By way of background, I have produced a newsletter for several years. Please accept my thoughts, which align with gswindale's in the main, not as criticism but as opportunities for improvement :-) 1) Slightly puzzled by it being a link to what could pos...

Re: Which routes would you like to see produced?
West Highland Line it simply has to be. There is no other route like it in the country. So much more interesting, scenic and ... I totally agree 250%, Ft. William to Malliag is easily the best, but Glasgow to Ft. William is a superb route too. ... . I agree too. Tho I've only been on it once, when ...

Re: Which routes would you like to see produced?
I voted GWR Mainline, as what exists is not the mainline. Also would not mind seeing any of these routes listed, but not in a modern setting. Total waste of time, with most of the infrastructure ripped up and gone. cheers, Dave. I agree... I'm bored of all this "drive for 10 miles, stop, drive for ...

Re: Routes and Networks
Point-to-point is going to be easier to build... "sprawling" routes tend to have lots of route-miles which adds up to lots (thousands) of man-hours to create. The most obvious "sprawl" - and it's huge - is the trans-pennine route that nobkins and his compatriots are building. It covers a good chunk ...
