Re: Freeware Assets

Hi I think this is why Geoff stated that you need to modify the .bin file and change the name of the asset. You would end up with the same asset twice but they would be named differently in order to identify them in-game and as freely distributable, with the need for permissions waived I hope I have...

Re: Any ideas about this?

Is it just on this particular scenario or is it affecting the route in general?

Re: How Much Payware In A Freeware Route? (Poll)

Something that has just occurred to me is that the use of payware (or other 3rd part assets for that matter) may be more acceptable to the end user if they know it is required in advance. It then becomes possible to make an informed decision about whether to get the route before it is even downloade...

Re: Freeware Assets

Would anyone be interested in a foot crossing pack? Includes two variations of wooden crossing, wooden stile, wooden fence, warning sign and telephone. http://i47.tinypic.com/2v2fea9.jpg Fantastic, can put an actual telephone next to DT's excellent Stop & telephone for instructions boards now :D

Re: WIP Thread 2 - Anything new for RailWorks

Did all of the NSE liveried 50's have the red/white/blue flashes on the headcode box? I thought I'd seen photos of some without?

Re: 9F Evening Star

If people have already got the "incomplete" model 5MT then they might not wish to buy the "finished" version. It's all down to consumer choice, nobody's going to "force" anybody to buy a loco they don't want :-?

Re: Painting terrain and crashes

I had this happen to me 3 times last night in quick succession. That is the only time I have experienced it and I could see no obvious cause :-?

Re: How Much Payware In A Freeware Route? (Poll)

One might make a case that a "freeware" route or routes relying heavily on GARL or Rich Garber's [sp?] assets adds value to that payware item. It's pretty remarkable to me that there is so much freely available content for Railworks in addition to the excellent (if inevitably a little generic) core ...

I've been wondering that too. You'd think he might have more pressing things to attend to when climbing over the Mendips! :o

Re: How Much Payware In A Freeware Route? (Poll)

What I like to see are routes built to as high a standard as the route builder can achieve. If that means using payware assets then so be it. I think that if the person building a route feels they have to compromise on what assets they can incorporate then it can have a knock on effect on their leve...

Re: Just Trains Class 20 - New Pictures & Video!

My personal opinion on the price of the Class 20 pack from JT is that it's quite a lot, but not necessarily unreasonable or overpriced. At that price it's going to be something I'm going to carefully consider buying rather than buying on impulse as I might a lower priced item. That said, I'd echo Da...
