Re: Rail Works Performance

I read this with great interest. After getting RW I deleted MSTS. This was a bit foolish in hindsight so I have re-installed it and was so looking forward to seeing it run at a decent 30fps on my new PC. So far it hasn't dipped below 60fps! Now, when I run RW I can get between 25 and 45fps. As the h...

Re: Busy Evening at Ealing Broadway

Thank you Manuel! It may be my advancing age but I find that screenshots concerning scenario's have helped me tremendously. In fact I'm about to hunt down any info that I can find on AI Portals. I used a screenshot walkthrough from the main site today to create my very first scenario in RW. It was n...

Re: Keeping logged in to UKTS

"We told you so, Frank!"

Thanks of course go out to you for the help and suggestions.

Frank.

Re: Busy Evening at Ealing Broadway

Thanks, but actually it is a small fraction of the great "Deluxe Cornish Pasty" scenario, which I edited making all trains AI, so that I could just sit and enjoy the great AP sounds. Manuel That's almost downright ingenious! Now I have to try that for myself, even if it does mean I am forced to do ...

Re: "Strange" Scenarios...

Interesting. I have found Railworks extremely stable so far, however there are times when a scenario will load with a popup listing broken consists, giving the option to edit the scenario. I find if I exit at that point, quit the game and then after a few seconds start the game up again and enter th...

Re: Keeping logged in to UKTS

UPDATE I have found a solution, althugh it was somewhat "Heath Robinson" to say the least. My son hooked up my old PC running XP service pack 3 and hey presto this morning I was able to log into the main site and download to my hearts content. I remained logged in at all times. This is far from a p...

Re: Confirmation required please?

Both Steam and Railworks run contentedly unders Windows 7, the later seeming to have a particular liking to the new operating system. For the first month of owning Railworks I was running it under XP service pack 3 but the purchase of a new PC meant taking on board Windows 7. I have always sworn by ...

Re: Route building Question.

Thank you! You told me exactly what I needed to know. Also a big thank you for the heads up about steam restoring the original route files, I wasn't aware of this. I certainly don't want to alter the original routes in any way so I'm quite comfortable about this, but thankful to be made aware of it....

Re: Keeping logged in to UKTS

IE 8 has issues with this site. Using the compatibility mode usually fixes those as you were advised on the support ticket. I don't use Windows 7 so I have no idea what the "protected mode" you referred to means but I do know to use IE 8 on XP SP3 I need to use the compatibility mode since IE 8 doe...

Route building Question.

Is it possible to use one of the Standard routes as a template for a new route? What I would like to do is take the IOW route and make some minor alterations to the scenery. Is it possible to do that using the IOW route as a template, without altering the original? I read the thread advising that a ...

London Underground?

There used to be some great stuff for MSTS based on the London Underground. Does anybody know if anything similar in the way of Routes/Rolling stock is available for Trainz 2006 and Railworks?

Re: Keeping logged in to UKTS

Thanks for that, Paul, but even though it was possible after a fashion to do something similar with Windows 7 it certainly hasn't cured the problem I'm sad to say. My son came by earlier and cleaned out the cache, cleared all the cookies and temporary files. That didn't work, so, much to my horror h...

Re: Keeping logged in to UKTS

I am running Windows Home Premium 7 with IE8 and I'm having a similar problem. I can use the forums and remain logged in, but on the Main Page ANY page or link I click on results in me being logged out. I too found that the alternative URL will not load. I have tried all the basic fixes and workarou...
