Re: BRCW Type 3 Class 33 (Crompton)
The BR Green diesel number font is called Dee, iirc, which also iirc is pretty much the same as DB's font. Don't try using colour swatches for absolute colours, the game won't render them quite right ( too bright ) which is why I've ended up repainting a lot of DT's efforts, for instance. Check out ...

Re: WIP Thread 4 - Anything new for RailWorks
Yeah, pbucket is doing that for me too. Take a few screenshots on different lines ( for different lighting ), and then get hold of a few recent pics of a BR Blue loco - like the Didcot King if there's some of it outside yet - and then just compare some RGB values of similar body parts. If they're co...

Re: Railworks Sound Questions
You are trying to use one sample, but using different start/finish parts for each game sound? I haven't seen any parameters for offsets from the start/end of a sample anywhere - although that might be a pretty useful thing to have.. especially for steam engine startups, you could create a sliding lo...

Re: Electrified London routes?
In weekdays ( in the 90s anyway ) they definitely switched at Dalston, as I said earlier though they turned the OHLE off at weekends. I can't imagine there being a break in the conductor between Dalston & Stratford anyway, that would be odd.

Re: Electrified London routes?
From looking at Google Earth (Images 2006) It was Richmond-Acton 3rd Rail, Acton-Camden OHLE, Camden-Dalston Kingsland 3rd Rail (OHLE single line running next to main), Dalston- N/A OHLE (Its 3rd Rail going into stratford), then 3rd rail all the way to woolwich. Dalston->somewhere towards Stratford...

Re: Save 85% on Railworks 2 on Steam
Hello all. Took the sale price to rejoin this from MSTS. So it has been two long years and no trains driven but I am confused I payed for RW2 and Class 31 Class 57 etc etc but I do not seem to own them they are held by Steam. Am I thinking correctly or lost the plot. Regards There are far more lega...

Cloning default couplings
Not entirely sure where to ask this, but eh. I cloned the default Kuju/Railsimulator/Railvehicles/Couplings/Buckeye/Dropdown ( I copied and edited the Dropdown folder and left it in Buckeye/ ) to try and reskin it, but it's not showing up after I point the engine blueprint at it. It's not a lack of ...

Re: WIP Thread 4 - Anything new for RailWorks
Been a bit since any EPB pics. http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/2149/epbg2.th.jpg Original green on the left, current state on the right. Still no luck with window frames yet :( Still a bit clean ( of detail, not lack of dirt ) for my taste, but I think unless we get a different lighting engine th...

Re: Railworks Tracks Problem
Or you can just copy the entire RW install somewhere else; you'll need to keep that updated by hand every time your steam copy updates though.
Ditto on ALchemy and tracks.bin errors.

Re: Falmouth Branch
Maybe I should try putting a pair of Class 101 DTCLs together wth the pannier tank in the middle. That's probably as close to an autocoach as RW has at the moment. :O Blasphemy!!!! :P lol! Well I did try it, and it was interesting - the better view definitely makes a difference, and I was able to d...

Re: Falmouth Branch - a heretic's view
Good morning Vern I'm just thinking out loud here (and probably teaching my grandfather to suck eggs as well!), but have you tried dragging the operating lever away from the point and cobbling a ground-frame together with dummy levers for locking - the lever still functions half a mile away from th...

Re: WIP Thread 4 - Anything new for RailWorks
and the DDS exporter turns it into a blocky mess when you try and export as dxt5. Don't use the DDS exporter, save as ACE file and use the blueprint editor to export it properly. Every reskin I've done for awhile now I do that way. Save it with the _nm attached so it's uncompressed goodness then ju...

Re: WIP Thread 4 - Anything new for RailWorks
Nice tip for weathering is to use a non-regular brush, like one of the default flower ones that comes with PS; if you don't paint too hard in one place it drops irregular flower shaped blobs everywhere, and then you can gaussian blur those into irregular blobs of dirt. I tend to do most shading in t...

Re: Electrified London routes?
If I'm correct The NNL was converted to 25KHz overheads in places to allow the Eurostars access to their depot next to Old Oak Common, class 325 mail trains from the ECML etc to PRDC (princess royal distribution centre) also benefited from this. There was overhead when I first moved to the area, wh...
