Re: Horseshoe Curve Route
I've tried running British stock and the same thing happens. Although it's clearly wrong the welded effect of having one continuous 400ft long coach looks appealing :D http://www.speedcam.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/railworks1.jpg http://www.speedcam.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/railworks2.jpg http://www.speedcam....

Re: Horseshoe Pass Route
An odd thing happens to the couplings going up the horseshoe pass - an oscillation in the train stretches them to an unfeasibly long extent - this may be 1 of the side effects of the longer trains I get this as well. It also eventually ends up crashing due to a consist tilt. I've tried it with Brit...

Re: Train Simulator 2012 (Part 2)
Regarding the multicore issue I've found that enabling it shows all four cores at 100% load on Core Temp whilst Railworks is running whereas unchecking it shows each core fluctuating between 10 and 20%. Scenario load times and performance is identical whether multicore is selected or not. This issue...

Re: The Stourbridge Branch
I've had a look through my books. The best pictures are in Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway by John Boynton. There are two pictures of the line between Town station and the basin showing the embankment. The caption states the gradient is 1:27 and 10 wagons was the maximum permitted. The p...

Re: The Stourbridge Branch
The original post mentions the canal basin which if it's the one I'm thinking of is next to High Street just north of the ring road. Hopefully this means you'll be setting the route in pre-Beeching times when the branch extended beyond the town station and was also double tracked. This offers more o...

There is a DavDecoder program that converts dav to wav and wav to dav.

And that applies to proxybin's as well?Kromaatikse wrote:Just delete the d:alt_encoding="..." field. It is ignored during reconversion to .bin format, and is frankly useless.

alt_encoding values
I hope someone can help me here. I've searched high and low and I've been unable to find an answer. When modify the values in a .bin file and you're faced with the following: d:alt_encoding="000000000000F03F" d:precision="string">1 is there any way of calculating the correct alt_encoding value for t...

Re: Rail clack sound ?
I thought I had cracked it but I've found a couple of errors with my sounds. Firstly at high speeds the sounds increase in pitch until they become as horrible as the default ones. Secondly on four wheeled wagons only one axle on each vehicle makes a sound and each sound does a double hit so although...

Re: Rail clack sound ?
I've had a go at replacing the default sounds. Here's how I did it. It's a long process but I don't know of any quicker way..... Or if you were kind enough you could copy the files you have already converted and upload them? Provided of course that that isn't a problem with copyright? Copyright is ...

I've had a go at replacing the default sounds. Here's how I did it. It's a long process but I don't know of any quicker way. In the folder Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\Audio\RailNetwork\Bogies there are files called R_JN_Clatter.dav and R_JN_Muted.dav each numbered from 01 to 10 making 20 files in tota...

Does anyone else have problems with Anisotropic filter optimisation? I can only set it to off. To change it just brings up a blank box :-? What card yer got? It's a GTX 570, budget didn't quite stretch to a 580 8) The Anisotropic filter optimisation setting isn't available with the previous drivers...
