Re: RailSimulator.com Spring-Summer Showcase 2011
If you're not happy with the rat a tat sounds it's very easy to change it to something else such as the class 31's which sound altogether more realistic. It's under the BogieAudioControlName comment in the bin file. Any chance of an idiots guide mate? Using RW_Tools open the bin file for the releva...

Re: East Somerset Railway - Release
I haven't noticed until now but looking at screenshots it appears the rail chairs are rendered in 3D. Is this a first for Railworks?

Re: Everything Steam
Here's something I can't resist - a single 0-6-0 Terrier pulling 70+ wagons uphill out of Par towards Lostwithiel. In reality would such a locomotive be able to hold so long a train at a standstill let alone actually pull it? I assume most of the wagons would be unfitted. http://www.speedcam.pwp.blu...

Re: Coming soon - China Clay For Export
Regarding the CDA's and their silent operation I've finally cracked it with the sounds after four days of trying. In the bin file towards the end is a section called <ContainerComponent>. This section has just a few lines as shown below: <ContainerComponent> <cEntityContainerBlueprint> <Children/> <...

When it's enabled there are passengers walking around on closed and goods platforms as well as the station platforms.Darpor wrote:Its a few pages back mate, there is an explanation and a workaround should you want it.

Re: Coming soon - China Clay For Export
I can't remember what the provider was in the original UCV file, but you might have to change provider to Kuju and package to Railsimulator also. ( I think it's package? the line under provider anyway ). Thats fixed it rik :D Works for me too, thanks  As for the CDA's, one workaround is to us...

Re: Coming soon - China Clay For Export
The clay hoods, unlike the CDAs, already have a sound entry, albeit a generic one (although I'm not certain it's right...). As such, the above RW_Tools procedure does not work, but I was able to use the manual edit function of RW_Tool ("Open Railworks File"), scroll down to the bottom and edit acco...

Re: Coming soon - China Clay For Export
Does anyone know how i can get the sounds to work for the wagons? I've aliased the sounds for the "Wagon Sound" and "Generic Wagon Sound" comments in the vehicle's bin file to one of the sounds in AP's Wagon Sound Pack therefore all items of rolling stock with these in their bin files will have sou...

Re: Woking - Portsmouth route - Out 22nd April
Are you sure the LED signals are only 2-aspect? LED's can show all three colours through a single lens and a second one is used where double yellows are required.

Will the issue of trains in tunnels and under station canopies casting shadows be fixed?RailX wrote:i also read something about improved shadows. but which technic will they use, shadow mapping?
so that 2D trees also throw a nice shadow on the ground? and will there be dark tunnels if a train drive into it?

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse wagon pack
I've tried copying and pasting the missing parts of the .bin file from another wagon into one of those wagon's file but to no avail. I've noticed that each vehicle has a unique 8 digit number such as the following. Is this significant? <cEntityContainerBlueprint-sChild d:id="55221800"> I also find w...

Re: A solution to SBHH???
I can confirm that an SSD does not stop SBHHs as I still get tons of them, mainly when creating scenarios. My SSD is an Intel X25M 80GB. Maybe other makes/models perform differently. Loading scenarios also takes ages, especially with vsync enabled so I don't see SSDs as a cure to the problems that R...

Re: Train-Spotting Route (a small route built in a day)
Making trainspotting scenarios is something I've been doing but I have to place each train on the track a block section apart and then start them off at one minute intervals as I can't seem to start them from portals. Tell me how you do it.
