Re: Class 57/0 Update Discussion
...Since RailDriver is based on USA trains I never saw any use for it on UK stock and I believe the inertia feature is more valuable?... I'm astonished that anyone would think this device is designed solely for USA style loco control. :x I'm of the opinion that this loco is a quality product with t...

Re: Railworks Track Laying Absolute Rubbish
More tips:
When in the editor, run RW windowed - you can't exit without a save but you can crash out by closing the window
Save regularly and frequently
Make a backup each time you have created a successful section

It's still a popular application and I understand your loyalty to it.wyefielder wrote:Thanx OrpheusRocker, Ive got far to much of the MSTS downloaded to lose, and love it to bits
I only uninstalled MSTS from my system back in the autumn. I'm sure you will enjoy RW2.

Railworks is not a Micro$oft product. You MSTS will be untouched.

Re: Falmouth Branch
Can someone quickly check something on this route before I flag it to RSC? Trying The Dawn Shift scenario, I get an overspeed caption not far outside Truro. I checked the track settings and there's a piece of 30mph track which is signed as 60mph at Lat 50.25911, Long -5.07303. I can't seem to select...

It's been a week but I finally got to drive it. Works really nice with the RailDriver setup for the Class 86 too.

Re: Creating Railworks Items with Sketchup
Hi Paul, Wow! Lots of interesting pointers. I'm really grateful. However, before we proceed further... This is my fault. I have two signal boxes in the warehouse. My first Sketchup model was Bishops Lydeard complete with innards. I used it to teach myself Sketchup and made some errors as you describ...

Re: Creating Railworks Items with Sketchup
Pete, I must be the dumbest dumb person on the planet  I waded through all the tutorials for Max, I can't understand why I haven't looked for the same thing in Blender. That's Xmas taken care of then :D I got a bit RW'd out a couple of months ago and took a vacation from it by doing Farming Si...

Understood. Please do not ask for files to be sent to you when they have been withdrawn. By all means ask for recommendations for suitable replacements but asking for them is not permitted.

Re: Creating Railworks Items with Sketchup
Paul, I very much appreciate the advice and I would love to continue getting my signal box into RW. Unfortunately, I was using someone else's Max but that isn't available to me anymore. I have installed Blender 2.49b with the correct version of Python and what I also believe to be the correct RW exp...

Re: Karma99's GWR wagons
... ID's 22417, 22250, 21316 ... I have 21316. Could someone remind me what 22250 and 22417 were so that I can find suitable replacements? Or, better still (pretty please), PM me the original files? I'd hate to spoil the route and scenarios with inappropriate rolling stock after all the effort put ...

Re: Creating Railworks Items with Sketchup
Sadly, I've lost access to Max now. In the new year I'm hoping to splash out for Canvas.
I would really like to get this one into RW.

Don't know if Windows 7 supports it (Vista did) but USB ReadyBoost might help with the speed of paging operations.
