Re: South West Wales route for TS2012

The SWW routes looks excellent in the screenies, recognised all the places I could see, llanstephan crossing was particularly good. Is it essential to have all those payware routes to run SWW route? I have none of those and only interested in the SWW route. I dont particularly want to pay well over ...

Re: The 378 is out!

Will these trains operate in any long tunnels? The centre door could be for use if passengers need to exit the train in an emergency when it is in a tunnel. Im not too fussed on the design though, only two doors per side seems a waste of time, should have been at least three for quick loading/unload...

Quiet loco sounds problem

I recently got back into MSTS after a long absence, and have come across a problem I did not notice when I ran MSTS years ago. Many loco sounds in the external view are very quiet, you have to zoom right into the loco to hear anything like the sound you get in the cab view. Is there any way of fixin...

Creating route with OS map

I remember from the early days of MSTS, a program where you could insert part of an OS map and draw along the contour lines, and so create scenery. I was very pleased with the way this turned out in MSTS, is it was much more realistic than DEM's, especially for narrow valleys. What was that program?...

Downloading DEM data

What websites do people use to download .hgt files for the DEM data? I have tried the NASA FTP links, but it keeps saying I do not have authorisation to use the site?!

Whistle/Horn probs

I have a recurring problem, seemingly randomly with the whistle/horn of locos. Seems to affect the Black 5, S&D loco and Deltic at the moment. The Deltic will not give a decent horn, no matter how long I hold space down for, I just get a very short blast on the horn, single tone, no second tone when...

Re: Hard drive trouble?

Just put 2gb of RAM in, and the game now runs much, much better! Still stutters a little on very heavy scenery, and high speeds, but much improved! thanks! :D mike

Re: Hard drive trouble?

Thanks guys! I suspected a RAM upgrade may be needed. Any recommendations where to get a good price? :)

Hard drive trouble?

I recently got KRS, and from what I've seen so far it seems very good. The steam loco sounds are the best I've heard in a computer sim, less said about the steam sounds for MSTS and Kisha De Go! the better! I do however have trouble with stuttering like many people on here, the S&D route runs best, ...

In Japan, the Shinkansen trains are much more expensive than the 'normal' trains which are obviously slower, but will get you to the same place in the end! The Japanese gauge (3'6'') Limited express trains charge a supplement on top of the normal fare to use them, so you pay more to get there quicke...

The RETB system has no physical token, just an electronic 'token' sent to trains from the signalbox.

There are many places token working is used. Absolute block is for double lines BTW  Here are some Western region ones off the top of my head that use tokens at the moment, some are NSKT lines though (No Signalman Key Token) A physical token is issued to the driver by remote control from a sig...
