We chose the steam era because the route was far more interesting in those days. I suppose 37s would be ok, as they first appeared on the Cambrian in the early 1960s (running long distance trains to Aberystwyth), but by the time 25s and dmus were the norm, the route had been stripped bare of much of...

Unfortunately nobody on any routebuilding team gets any royalties when secondhand copies change hands on Ebay. We don't get much either when retailers sell copies that have been produced by a third party publisher - in fact we often end up paying them back for unsold copies. I can't speak officially...

Optical illusion. The loco is identical in length to the 4575 Prairies on Cambrian 1.

Barmouth Junction became Morfa Mawddach in 1960, the same time that Dolgelley became Dolgellau. When we started Cambrian 2, we set the date as early 1960s, hence Morfa Mawddach. In the 3 years that have passed, we've actually not stuck to this too strictly, so various parts of the route are set anyw...

Cambrian 2 has lots of goods shunting activities, including several pick up goods trains. Unlike the original Cambrian route, most of the stations have sidings, so there's plenty of scope for goods activities. In fact, out of the 50 activities supplied with the route, most are actually goods trains....

No Halls please Nick. They are too heavy! An Ivatt mogul would be at home on the Cambrian, especially on the branch lines. As for Talerddig, unless you happen to be driving one of the modified Manors (or a pair of class 37s), you'll struggle just as much as in real life. It seems easy as far as Llan...

There are new cabs for the Manor and Dukedog. The 4MT and 108 cabs are the same as on Swanage, with 101 and Prairie cabs off the original Cambrian. I will be making new loco sounds for the GWR locos. The wagon and carriage sounds are the same as those supplied with the Swanage Bonus pack, as are the...

Not all of the rolling stock featured in the screenshots is from the pack. 45002 has also included other rolling stock in some of his screenshots. Locos included will be 45xx Prairie, 4575 Prairie, GW Mogul, Dukedog, Manor, 80xxx BR Standard. There will be several of each in various liveries and con...

Richard Scott deserves the credit for the rolling stock. He's done a great job as always.

You must have good eyes to spot those carriages. Yes they are VOR carriages, but they are only static (one train as a single item to keep the tile object count down).

Dukedog to Aberystwyth 1950s

Dukedog 9021 takes a passenger train between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth in the late 1950s. <IMG width="800" height="600" SRC="http://www.atomic-album.com/showPic.php/23188/DD50_Mach.jpg"> Machynlleth <IMG width="800" height="600" SRC="http://www.atomic-album.com/showPic.php/23188/DD50_Dovey_Jnc.jpg...

You'll need to restart unfortunately. I think it's a bug with MSTS, which is perhaps more noticeable on this route because of the high handbrake values.
