Yes it's kind of forcing people into Surveyor when there shouldn't be a need Yes.......but that could also be a good thing! Once people who, hitherto were content to just tootle around with the bog standard kit and a few downloaded items, start experimenting with Surveyor, they'll probably end up w...

It's also the Way Forward for the following reason: You can drop different consists of coach rakes / wagons all over your layout. You can drop various light locos at your Motive Power Depot. You can then choose to "drive" a differnt loco whenever you wish and couple/uncouple and shunt or drive as yo...

That was why I recommended Jasc's Paint Shop Pro - You set the "Hot Key" yourself so you don't get bothered by the different "WIN-DOZE" operating ststems' idiosyncracies!

Well, thanks to Hunchinbrooke1, my graphics are a lot better. One thing I have discovered is the joy of using the Surveyor to create and place consists. A small thing you may think, but it is giving me hours of pleasure! You can create consists of coach rakes and wagons with no loco, and position th...

If you have Jasc's PaintShop Pro, open it before running Trainz or MSTS and, from the top menu, choose "File" "Import" "Screen Capture" "Setup" you then choose "Full Screen" "Hot Key (defaults to F10 but use any key that the game doesn't use)" and check the box that says "Multiple Screenshots". Mini...

Great! I've just found a back-up copy of my "North Devon & Cornwall" Trainz route and Surveyor has managed to open it up! I've been pleased with Trainz 2004 but would echo a point being made elsewhere - "There's not a vast amount of difference on the surface between UTC and Trainz 2004". Dig into Su...

Boll*cks!!! When it deleted UTC, Trains2004 has also deleted all the Custom Content so my North Devon & Cornwall Route will need to go back to the drawing-board. Fortunately, I kept all my Trainz Downloads *.cdp files so I've the tedious job of re-installing everything, but, what the hell, it'll pro...

Well - It's Finally Here

I got my copy of Trainz 2004 this morning. I've installed it and allowed it to transfer the Custom Content and Paint Shed from UTC. I've allowed it to remove UTC, so now there's no going back!

Can't wait till tonight to try it out!

Matt - hope you find all these responses helpful. FWIW here's mine When / Where did you first hear about Trainz? Through the Trainz developers’ web-siter about two years before launch. In those days, you were able to download 3d models and view them through the downloaded 3d viewer. What "Trainz" ...

Ahhh! But is it possible to add vehicles to the traffic that appears on the roads???

(For example, buses are conspicuous by their absence and we have some good ones in the Custom content that would look even better trundling along the roadways!)

........Will Trainz 2004 allow this?
