Re: Rolling Stock Abbreviations, What do they mean?
Another good resource is: http://electriclemon.net/mysharedaccounts/smrc/wagon_tops_codes.html which is part of the Solihull Model Railway Circle website. Found this when I was going through making sure all my MSTS wagons had consistent names. Also if you never got the old fashioned headcodes "1K09"...

Re: How to move between locations without flying
John,
Thanks, I thought I had tried that before, but it didn't seem to work. Just tried again, it works perfectly, user error I suspect.
This makes life even easier.

How to move between locations without flying
I got RS last week and been playing with it over the weekend, the graphics are impressive and I am getting better frame rates with full detail turned on than I do out of MSTS at the same detail levels. This is not on any fancy PC either, I have a Dell D610 Latitude Laptop with just 64M Graphics card...

I'd agree with Martin, much easier if you can set up a network between the two. It will still take a long time to copy between the machines. However, one comment in favour of starting from scratch. If you are like me, you have probably installed all sorts of things into MSTS over the last few years....

MOW Activity for Dorset Coast V2
Many of you have downloaded the MOW activities I wrote for Dorset Coast V1. I now have V2 installed and up and running and am looking to extend and improve the activities. I hope, assuming a relatively quiet week at work to get the new version out for next weekend. The obvious one to extend is the p...

And has ended ....
The investigation begins. Unfortunately, my investigations this weekend were unable to recreate the problem I originally encountered. :( In the spirit of trying to recreate the problem, I backed up my MSTS installation, and then stated from scratch. All this proved is that DC V2 works fine on MSTS ...

I must admit in the past I had always thought about doing something similar to my own files to make them easier to find..... However, in the end decided it was simpler to stick with the authors original names as most activity writers (myself included now) use the original names. I don't have any iss...

Simon. Did V2 run before you installed the V2 patch? Dave Dave, I am sorry to say it did not. I tried that. Thanks to James for all his suggestions. I will have a bash at the weekend and see if it is something to do with me or a very specific problem depending on MSTS setups. I think I have weekend...

I am itching to try this is a couple of my uploaded activities, especially the ESSO Tankers. The final version was missing a lot of "static" consists I wanted to add into the sidings through Southampton but had to remove as I keep hitting that limit before MSTS gives up. I have plans to extend this ...

James, Yep I checked Finescale too. I have version 3.1.6.0, the latest. I very rarely am not running the latest version of things. It is a very strange error and I am very confused as to why only one or two of us seem to be suffering. I keep an eye here for suggestions but have to be away the next f...

If you do get round to editting the times directly in the ACT file itself, the number MSTS uses is basically the number of seconds from midnight to the time you want. Having discovered this I let the timetable calculator do what it wants in AE, then open up the ACT file and change the player times d...

Hope someone does some more Freight Activities !! I intend to extend my ESSO Tankers and later MOW activity to include the new track in v2, as soon as I can get it working. Like James, I am also planning to create some more freight activities for this and other UK routes, just have to fit it round ...
