How many consists do you have in the consist folder? A large number (over 900) can create non-route-specific problems loading activities.

I beg to differ Geoffwright. It's not a "bin job". MSTS is doing something strange (again). See my post above. If we all (or even just a few of us) persevere, we might be able to figure out what's happening and how to get around it. That way we will all get better and better activities. Judith has p...

I suggest downloading Mike Simpson's (free) RouteRiter. It includes a utility to change couplers and brakes.

Back to the bolster problem in the earlier version. I have changed all of my stock to Automatic coupling and air single pipe brakes using RouteRiter (except bar coupling and the other unique ones). If I make up a consist of 44871, five bolsters and the brake van in the Consist Editor, it runs withou...

No, I haven't installed clicker. I will try removing the mooing sounds and see if that solves the coupling problem.

Not that one exactly but a recent experience started me wondering about the same issue. I managed to get through the "Roundup" activity a while ago, coupling front and back without any problem (except for the wagons that had to be moved onto a straight piece of track). I downloaded the mooing sounds...

Go into AE and find the loose consist that won't couple, move it back a bit. In the original activiy it was sitting on a bit of a curve, which caused the coupling problem. Once it's on a straight, it couples - at least it did for me!

I gave up on prototypicality (is that a real word?) and all the hassles with incompatible coupling and brake types. I used RouteRiter to change all the couplings (except Bar) to Automatic and the brakes to Air-Single-Pipe. So far it works like a charm. Mike, the coupling change works on blocks of st...

Brooksy, My apologies. The readme does indeed mention the crashing-sometimes-when-exiting-activities. I'm willing to put up with that small problem bcause this is a FANTASTIC route. (Please excuse the shouting but it's got me all excited!) The logging camps up in the hills are especially lifelike. S...

Is this a sign of greater things to come?

Help!!!

I downloaded all six zips from tr**n-s*m and followed the instructions exactly.

The route loads okay, the activities start okay but when I end an activity it always crashes back to the desktop with the Send/Don't Send message.

Any ideas what's wrong? I'm running XP.

Alan,

I've never used the "Delete" in RR. I use "Move" (I think that's what it is). It stores the unused files in a "Spare......." folder. It works on blocks okay.

If you find something that doesn't work quite right in RR, e-mail Mike Simpson. He's very helpful.

Regards,

Bob.

Any chance of uploading the test activity here?

I have both 44871 and 44781. I thought they came in the same set.
