Re: EM1 Downloads

paullad1984,

By "msts bin compliant" I assume you mean being switchable to a rear cab? If so, all you need to do is run the current .cvf file through Rear Cab Maker and it is.

Re: Train Simulator 2013

Now that's really obtuse!

I think Chris is quite entitled to express an opinion that a statement is offensive. It doesn't have to be aimed at him at all.

And as to declaring whether he's representing RS.com, it's not necessary.

Re: world must be ending (cab forward and ge44 released)

Does anyone else feel, like I do, that the cabforward doesn't look and feel "massive" enough? Here are comparison pictures. The "real" one is a photo that I took a few years ago of a static display in the railway museum at Sacramento. Standing beside it, it really felt massive. [album 23155 CabForwa...

Re: Project Platform Stock Update

Thanks for that.

I just tried it with Windows 7 and it is much quicker. Also tried it with XP and, although it is possible, it's a bit more convoluted to set the search parameters.

Re: Project Platform Stock Update

What I do is to search the Railworks folder for all files (*.*) and when it's finished, click on the "Date" at the top of the column. That will show the files at the top that have just been updated.

Project Platform Stock Update

(Haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere.)

Just had about a 26Mb update from Steam which turned out to be an update of some of the Project Platform stock.

Re: Train Simulator 2013

@michaeldono You don't need two Steam accounts to have a "barebones" copy of TS2012 (or TS2013), assuming by that you mean DLC only. I have one Steam account and two versions of my "steamapps" folder, one called "steamapps DLC" and the other called "steamapps ALL". The first one has only DLC in it a...

Re: BATS Southern Region Update (Again!!!)

Glad you got it going Art.

I think "the route runs fine without the patches" might not be correct for some people. From memory, there was an over-abundance of sound regions in some locations which would cause problems for lower spec. machines.

Art,

Have you first installed the Southern Region from the original CD?

Re: BATS Southern Region Update (Again!!!)

Having put a lot of time into the two updates as lead tester for BATS, I can say that they are definitely worth installing. The installation of the updates is not difficult and they correct some fundamental problems with the content of the original CD.

Re: Olympic Success

Here's the table of countries ranked by number of medals won divided by population as mentioned by Alec at the start of this thread. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/datablog/2012/jul/30/olympics-2012-alternative-medal-table Click on the column headed "Pop Rank". I'm afraid the UK isn't very close to...

Re: MSTS doing my head in

If you look carefully at the whistle lines in the cab sound files, you'll find

( 1 File( ../UK_Shared/x_whistle_wc_02.wav"-1 )

There is a " missing. It should be

( 1 File( "../UK_Shared/x_whistle_wc_02.wav"-1 )

Try that and see if it fixes it.
