Re: Something SAD has happened...

Many thanks for the replies - it was indeed a missing wagon.

I can't understand why the error message can't be more helpful.

Best wishes

Re: Something SAD has happened...

Hello Many thanks for your reply - you are probably right - it is not the world's most up-to-date computer: AMD Sempron2800+ 2000Mhz 1024MB DDR2 Memory ATI Radeon 9600 Windows XP SP3 Having said that, wouldn't a underpowered computer cause it to run very slowly, rather than not load? Something SAD has happened...

Morning all I'm fairly new to this, so perhaps someone can help me. I've had Railworks for a while, and although I haven't used it very much, it has worked satisfactorily. This morning I have downloaded and installed the Altenburg-Wildau route and when I try to run a scenario, it seems to take forev...

Re: Why does the despatcher verify all the paths in advance...

Morning everyone

Many thanks for the replies - I feel relieved to know that others feel similarly about the limitations imposed by the despatcher. I don't suppose much will change, but one can always hope.

Off on holiday now - best wishes to all

Re: Why does the despatcher verify all the paths in advance...

While I fully agree that we have to accept it that RSC only support the player train perspective and not the total perspective on the network, I am not so sure that a radical approach to AI simplification will be too acceptable. If you are serious about the location markers, then you will always me...

Re: Why does the despatcher verify all the paths in advance...

Good morning everyone Many thanks for the replies - I thought it was just me who feels hamstrung by the shortcomings of the despatcher. @Andis - your reply was as erudite as ever, but I fear I have to disagree with your reasons for the path verification. In the real world, it is obviously essential ...

Re: Entre Loire E't Garonne version 1 Mai 2010

Morning everyone

Just a note to let you know I'm back in business with a new 500GB HD, neatly partitioned for various applications/activities - looking forward to getting stuck into Loire et Garonne - I live about 12 miles from Fontenay-le-Comte!

Best wishes

Re: Why does the despatcher verify all the paths in advance...

Hello AndiS Thanks for your reply - I was thinking in more general terms, rather than in a particular scenario. Why verify the player and AI paths at all, and why not wait until the interaction occurs to use the priority flag and the signalling to decide the outcome. More often not, a reported confl...

Why does the despatcher verify all the paths in advance...

...and then decide yea or nay before the scenario has even started? This may seem a naive question, but think about it for a mnute. On the real railway, just as in real life, one sets off in hope rather than expectation that the path will be clear - the driver of a train from Glasgow does not know t...

Re: Entre Loire E't Garonne version 1 Mai 2010

Hi, many thanks for the good wishes - it's pretty terminal for the hard-drive - I'm afraid it isn't even rotating!

Fortunately, it isn't the system drive, so at least I can order a new one online!

Back after the break...

Re: Entre Loire E't Garonne version 1 Mai 2010

Morning all Many thanks for your replies - I was still having problems with it seizing up from time to time, but not as much as I have now! No sooner had I asked the question, than one of my hard drives departed this world - guess which one! The route was so new that I hadn't even made a backup of i...

Re: Entre Loire E't Garonne version 1 Mai 2010

Good morning gentlemen It's good to see the interest in this route - the area is quite close to my heart. Thanks to Chris for uploading the missing track sections. Can I ask if anyone has succeeded in running the route through Route-Riter - I get repeated "Subscript out of range" errors? Best wishes...

Re: Entre Loire E't Garonne version 1 Mai 2010

Many thanks for that - I've downloaded it OK and I'm looking forward to installing it. It's strange, but on Yahoo there is no mention of it, whilst on Google there are several references - how can that happen? It's also the title of a French cookery book - thought you'd be interested! Best wishes Phil
