Has anyone else had problems loading Pro Train 1?

On my setup (Windows XP) it loads the first part of the installer, then as soon as the progress bar gets to the right hand side the program just stops! No error message, and the process disappears out of Task Manager.

Have tried running in all compatibility modes, to no avail - any ideas?

Not much help I know, but getting a job in the railways has become much harder since privatisation. When I applied to become a freight guard in the mid 80's I actually applied to the wrong place, but they were able to forward my letter to the right place (because Temple Mills was rather oddly part o...

Slightly OT but my brother-in-law who lives in LA says they have no idea about driving in foggy or slippery conditions - they just drive the same as always and wonder why they crash! Dave W Too true! I was out in LA at the beginning of November when they had their first proper rain for two years, a...

Some thoughts: When they say the card is not upgradeable, they mean you can't upgrade the onboard one - you can always replace it: Is there an AGP slot on the motherboard (much shorter slot than the PCI ones, usually coloured white and closest to the CPU)? Note: This socket may have a memory chip in...

Re: Head-on collision, how?

I am a newcomer to MSTS but am puzzled by something. When running the "Whitefish Freight Pull" activity I was involved in a spectacular head-on collision on a single line section. How could this have happened? If I had passed a signal at danger (and I'm sure I didn't) the activity would have termin...

Having worked for BR before and during the run up to privatisation I would make the following points: An awful lot of people went out of their way to provide the best system possible with the resources available. This was true from traincrew and station staff all the way up to to network managers. O...
