Re: HST's at 125.X mph
I think the Inter City 225 referred to the speed in kilometres/hour which converted to real money= 139.8085182534 MPH (don't want to overspeed), 140 MPH being the design speed of the Class 91's, although as rightly pointed out they are restricted to 125 MPH. Think the original plans were to run at 1...

Re: TS2012 Woodhead route blog
Compromise-something midway between two or more different things' Design and engineering (whether it be planes, cars or software) is always a compromise given real world constraints. Want a car that goes round corners like there's no tomorrow? Fine, but the ride will be unbearable. Want a car that r...

Re: WCML - Is it worth £24.99?
On the subject of text colour, my partially-sighted mother-in-law saw the optician today who advised that most people with sight difficulties prefer white text on a black background, as a white background tends to tire your eyes more due to the high contrast.

Re: Coal
We have ten times more coal reserves than we do oil and gas, so once fossil fuels begin to run out and prices go even higher we'll be sitting on a gold mine (or coal mine even!) as it will then be more economical to mine it and decrease our reliance on imported coal from some of the more dubious sou...

Although not northern based, they did get as far as York on the Cliffe(Kent)-Uddingston(Glasgow) cement train in the early 1960's, in pairs at first.

Ah, Burley Park. Memories of a cold, foggy winters night in the late 1950's with asthmatic A2 Pacific 60539 Bronzino emerging from the gloom belching black smoke and sparks, going so slow I could have jumped aboard. An image that has lived with me throughout my 63 years.

Scenario problem-Commuter Run File ID 27070
Trying to install scenario for Portsmouth direct route, "Commuter Run" file ID 27070. File unzips ok, but after installing .RWP file via package manager scenario does not appear in the route. Further investigation reveals .RWP file is empty, anyone else got problems? Noted that file has 195 download...

Re: Changing the cabs
Kariban, Thanks for this, tried it and although cab appears and controls work, can't get the 317 to move. Had another attempt of my own and amazingly got it to work, noticed that when power is applied pantograph goes up and train moves. On yours, pantograph stays down even when "p" is pressed, so co...

Re: Changing the cabs
Hi, I've managed to replace the cab using the instructions contained in Karma 99's prairie cab (search for it on Google). Details are in the contols xml.txt file in the download. Unfortunately I now have two main problems. The throttle control in the cabview won't work using the keyboard, mouse or H...

Re: How about a full-cab view?
Steve, I don't think so, because I have gone too far back on a few occasions and got the drivers seat in view, but moving forward again to get the seat behind has still resulted in the mouse controls not working. Think it must be something to do with the viewing distance, if only I knew what! Thanks...

Re: How about a full-cab view?
I've been experimenting with moving the cabview back with some success and like moving the controls with the mouse. Only trouble is that in some cabviews, if I go far enough back to get all the controls in view, then mouse control is not available. Anyone any idea which parameter determines mouse co...
