Re: Railworks 2 Update but HST brakes not fixed???

In red update to my comment: It's a really neat way of controlling brakes, you simply grab the brake handle (in the F4 HUD) with the mouse pointer holding LMB, then position the handle for the right position/brake-force and press RMB to keep it there. Really nice "keyboard interface". I worked hard ...

Re: HUD display problems

Does other keys - like the brakes - work as you expect? If not, check your keyboard mapping.

Re: Railworks 2 Update but HST brakes not fixed???

The brakes can be controlled with the pointing device - like I remember millions of users asking for in here - or was it on wikileaks? It's a really neat way of controlling brakes, you simply grab the brake handle with the mouse pointer holding LMB, then position the handle for the right position/br...

Re: TrackIR support in RW2

A perfectly reasonable request now when most real rail vehicle control systems are trackIR operated  Personally i'd rather have RW include the ability to monitor the temp of my tea. It is sooo frustrating to pour the water on before leaving Paddington only to find the tea icecold by the time I...

Re: Tech Help

Win x64 will not do much for RW at present - unless you have more than 4GB of physical RAM. If not - AFAIK - all the good it does for RW is freeing you from adding /PAE /AWE to the line in boot.ini, that boots your windows install. RW should no be able to use 3GB of user address space if /AWE is ena...

Re: HST Brakes

The problem in expert mode is that all positions: 10%, 40%, 51%, 62% or 74% eventually gives the same brake cylinder pressure: 12.5 PSI. Applying one notch more, to 85%, will eventually cause too hard braking in career scenarios. One can come off it (back to 74% or lower) in time to avoid penalty, b...

No fix for HST brakes in 114.1?

What is the word on the HST brakes? Have they come to stay? :-?

Edit: There seem to be some adjustment since 114.0, but not having the two side by side, it's hard to tell.

Re: RW2 : The Unhappy Thread

To me, it is much more serious, that RSC keeps loading new eye-candy into a game engine, that still can only use one core worth of CPU resrouces. Most platforms today are multi-cored and the sim-realism would benefit from sensible use of available hardware. Adding extensive use of timed keypressing ...

Re: Carstairs split stuck

After a lot of stuttering, a few SBHH and a real NT crash to BSOD upon hitting the platform in Glasgow - while busy applying some last moment braking... I haven't seen a BSOD on XP for ages. Rather impressive  A) The wonderful route has many dense spots taking their toll on the GPU. B) There s...

Re: balises De PZB 500Hz

Excuse me Dany. I did not mean direct physical contact - as in touching. A device on the loco passes over the device (balise) on the track.

I am still not convinced, that german balises should at all work with english signals.

Looking at the image posted previously: http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/9684/test1ky.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us Does De PZB controllers function with UK signals? I do not think so. Use UK controllers (AWS) with UK signals and DE controllers with DE signals. The magnet device (the big box) usua...

Re: Northern European Route

Back to timetabled scenarios for NER. The issue was: why are there so few user published scenarios for this otherwise very nice route? Unfortunately RW routing verification loops, when scenario markers are used in train schedules for this route. So much for way points;-) Really. for AI trains and du...

Re: Northern European Route

I have made quite a few scenarios for earlier incarnations of this route and found that using a "timetabled" scenario marker and leaving the player train unmarked as such (requiring you to lmb on it) results in having the route set for your train irrespective of manual points. :) Neat trick, indeed...
