Re: Class 390 Trains - Help Please !

Jim, Have you allowed Steam to update your 390? If so, are you using the Virgin Trains repaint by Horgy? The symptoms you describe popped up after the 390 update for people who were using Horgy's first release, but he quickly came out with a second release to fix these problems (available here -- fi...

Re: My Imaginary Route (Version 3 Now in the Library)

Thanks Guys :D Here is the new loading screen i have created today. Still a while until next version but allready made it! Re: Class 390 issue

That happens when you save the game exit and come back to it. Ever so frustrating. I don't have that problem. When I save a scenario while driving the 390 and then continue the scenario the 390 operates normally. Make sure you've allowed Steam to update your 390, and if you're using Horgy's Virgin ...

Re: Thoughts on "Something bad .." errors

Jevon, several people had the very same issue with the Morning Service scenario just south of Springvale when the route update was released around Christmas. We managed to work out that if we reduced object detail to medium that we could get through that part with no crash. This seems to support yo...

Western Rail Corridor v.3

Irishrail123 ... Kudos, man. This is a terrific route -- ideal in my opinion. Small enough to get around it all, yet large and complex enough to create some fun passenger and freight scenarios. The detail in populated areas is totally immersive. Electrification is a real plus for users who like to r...

Re: Western Rail Corridor v.3

You can use 7zip to extract the files from the .rwp, then delete the zero-byte file: Western Rail Corridor v.3\Content\Routes\0810ba6e-f5f1-42fd-948b-4d690396c3bf\Scenery\-000001-000005.bin.bak1 BTW, there are a number of other *.bak* files in there that you can also delete. Then just slide the 0810...

Re: Class 390 issue

I'm assuming you've allowed Steam to update your default 390.

If you're using Horgy's Virgin repaint, make sure you've also updated that. http://www.mediafire.com/?m4o0gwozjtd

Re: Thoughts on "Something bad .." errors

Hi, just a thought - have you got the `plug & play aware operating system ` option enabled in BIOS - if not the operating system can't always control allocation of memory and can lead to conflicts. Mark ... My understanding from reading tech notes about this on the Microsoft site is that you may ha...

Re: Thoughts on "Something bad .." errors

Thanks for all of the input so far. To those running into "Something Bad" extremely often try running the sim with the default assets only, and see how you get on. If you get no crashes then individually add 3rd party items until you do get a crash. This might narrow things down if it's something th...

Thoughts on "Something bad .." errors

This is what I've found in looking into the "Something bad has happened" errors on my system while playing scenarios in NY Modern and Wales & Borders. I don't know where the problem rests -- i.e., with RW or with the way my system (see specs in my signature) manages system and video card memory. I c...

Re: Service Classes and creating realistic AI traffic

What sorts of figures do you put in the speeds box? Obviously 0mph means an actual stop, but I've been trying to put the line speed or max speed of the train in here and having mixed results. The only time I've entered a value in the speed box is when I've needed to use a Stop At instruction to rou...

Re: Service Classes and creating realistic AI traffic

I was wondering also if anyone had any tips on making the AI run its trains a bit quicker than they seem to default to :-? I've had some limited success with a couple of services by setting waypoints ("go via"s) and setting a specific speed in those, however, if there are multiple services using th...

Re: Mullys Northern Lights

Thanks for the info i got both the 158 and 220 is there a Pendolino activity? Electrification is only in and around Edinburgh. There are two short 390 scenarios. I highly recommend hopping in a 220/221 at Montrose and driving the whole route. Frame rates are great, except for a few stutters in the ...
