The Railway Monthly - July

Hey, I managed to watch the whole DVD last night - I particularly liked the Swanage Railway bit - it felt like a nice preview of the 3DTS offering...! (though the coaches seemed to be painted in various shades of green - to add to the BATS Southern pack debate!) Some items were not so good for me at...

As in a little bit of noise to create that effect - or just leave it as one colour with noise, as before? It's easy to remove - as it's an adjustment layer in my Photoshop original - I could even change it to a noise layer. I'll experiment anyway. As to what's next, time allowing of course, I have t...

3D canvas difficult???? exactly - it's easy! (well, ok quite easy - there are some points in the modelling that are challenging, but this has to be true for all packages...) I wish it wasn't so memory hungry though - does the v6.x new renderer fix this? (am waiting to finish the S3 before upgrading...

Hey - Paul - you have the NER book don't you? The main photo I'm working from is the ex-Works S3 on the pages just before the engineering elevations. The handrail looks very white in that photo - but is this because it's been painted specially for the photo? The other photos are so dark it's hard to...

Thanks for the comments :-) Better screen shots - Sure - I will get them done tomorrow hopefully (sorry - can't get out of the habit of 'optimise images for web' built up from being a website manager - these are cropped and exported at 75%)... I will zoom in as far as I can and export at 100% jpeg q...

A bit later than planned, but here are the updated screenshots - I did some 'experimental' texturing on the tender sides to try and emulate the look you often get of the top half looking lighter in photos... not sure if I should keep it or not... thoughts? [album 22363 sview_front2_3_4.jpg thumblink...

I'll post some new screenshots tomorrow.

Those screenshots are great - this is on my wanted list! The website now has some info on this route - actually just more screenshots as the page seems to have been published without going through any Q/A - still has [put your title here] style things on it... but great to see progress on the site. ...

Well, I'm working from scale plans so I hope it is the right size! I will double check though. In terms of what's next, well - I've got to release this one first - then I will move on to new models. I've got a couple of directions I want to pursue though so it will be decision time soon enough! Chee...

Amen to all the above... This is amazing. It's the first version I've used of Train Store - and as already said, quite how I did without it before I don't know!

Cheers

Nearly there now on the texturing... just a few bits of detailing to do and then it's eng/wag, beta testing and release!

Here's some screenshots in sview:

With 3Dtrainstuff and BATS now producing quality add-ons it's quite a good time to be into pay-ware train simming... :D I've always liked the 3Dtrainstuff products - even with the odd errors (funny shaped A4) - they are textured very innovatively - quite '30s railway poster' style - as opposed to BA...
