It looks like you need to re-apply the crease operation to the model - this for some reason affects the shading on textures producing effects such as this or 'flashing wheels'. The crease operation is the button with an upside down v. (though there is now also a plug-in 'Crease All' I've also never ...

Matt I'm sure I'm not the first to suggest this, and probably not the last! But will the re-design allow you to sort out the download library categorisation? I liked the way TSF did it way back by Era, operating company, Loco Class, etc so that you were more able to browse / check that someone hadn'...

I will give it another try tonight - though the problem is not happening with the ConRods - it's with the Reverser Rod Connector (Connector Left) All the animation is perfect on both sides except that this particular object does not rotate - therefore the RevRodLeft animation is also wrong as a cons...

Am I the only one to have experienced this issue? Just wondering if anyone has a solution to this! The animator is great and I am sure I am doing something wrong - maybe with the pivot of the connector left object - I made ConnectorRight, and copied and pasted Connector Left - but I cannot figure it...

What a load of utter ...thinks hard for polite word... nonsense. What exactly is the problem with people looking at, noting down or photographing trains?? Lots of innocent activities have become 'security risks' since 9/11 - like the earlier post - it's a bit suspicious! I never understood why count...

MSTS Rod Animator

Paul I'm having some teething troubles using your Rod Animator: The right hand set of wheels and rods animate perfectly - but the left side does not match. Having stared at the screen and my plans for ages I tracked the problem down to the ConnectorLeft object - in the animation, it has to counter t...

Render 2 sided?

I was looking at the options on 3D Canvas (5.7a) last night and saw a check box to "render 2 sides" (something like that, cant remember exact words.

Anyway, on my system it is unchecked - does anyone know what it does and whether or not I should check the box?

Cheers

I have now tracked down the problem - it was the flange object - this has not been textured in the above screenshot. (Doh - note to self to read the tutorial in great detail!)

Paul - just wondering if you can help on this one: I have used your TSE to create the wheels (using 5.7a btw) but this is the effect I get - as you can see the transparency works fine for the far driving wheels but not for the near ones. Any ideas? I have tried out the same process with non-solid wh...

RRT 1 was great - probably the Sid Meier effect! RRT2 was average in my opinion. This one looks like it has promise - but for me the drawback was always that you didn't really have much control over the track layout and signalling. Now what about Transport Tycoon? Anyone remember this one? I thought...

Not so surprising, seeing as I'm from your area - Wallington.

Not a problem vis Baltic - I was only half way through it! (I should have kept my eye on the forums as I could have told you what I was doing!) Yes it's welcome back again . I do keep browsing but I've not found the time to model for ages - and therefore haven't posted till a couple of weeks ago. Th...
